Fade threw her set of clothes on the floor and proceeded to look for something else to wear. IBK watched her from the top of her bed before coming down to help out. She knew Fade was going nuts currently and she could relate to it, meeting your ex for over two years was something everyone wanted to leave an impression on. She walked to her anger before picking out a short skirt and big tees for her, she removed her face cap before throwing it at the now-tired Fade.
Femi Martins was sending some stuff to Demi and he decided to include her own things because apparently, Katerina was too lazy to mail it separately. She knew they were trying to play Cupid and it's not going to work. Maybe it would because that's the only logical reason she's trying to look attractive because she was going to pick up her stuff.
Fade spent the remaining minutes waiting for her Uber and she made silent prayers. To be honest, she wondered what Demi's reaction would be seeing her. After their messy break-up in school, he avoided her like a plague. Even when she won an international competition and the principal was hailing him for being a good chaperone, he didn't say a word to her. At his graduation, she got him a present and she sent him a text to meet her in the garden, she waited for close to three hours and he didn't show up. She left the gift on the spot and she never grew the balls to actually go back to see if he came to take it or not.
"Fadeeeeee" IBK's screaming face startled her and she snapped back to reality, she realized her Uber arrived five minutes ago. She picked up her bag and she walked downstairs with her nerve scattered everywhere. She hated how much the anticipation f seeing him again was doing to her. Since she got his curt text yesterday night telling her to come and pick up her stuff at his lodge, her insides did a flip.
He didn't even ask how she was or even say a common hi. He just went to the point straight. She thought she was dreaming until she found out he viewed all the memes she posted on her status yesterday night. Many had been about her catching cruise about being single and she hoped it didn't send a wrong signal across. She almost died when she saw that he viewed every single thing.
She entered the waiting cab after confirming the rider details and the journey started. She tried playing multiple games on her phone but nothing worked to calm her down. She really hoped she didn't show up as a fiddling mess like this when she got to his place. She blamed Katerina for doing this rubbish to her. She knew she wasn't ready to face him yet but still, she chose to mail their things together.
"Madam, we don reach." The driver's voice pulled her away from her train of thought and she made payment before getting down from the cab. She adjusted her top and she adjusted her face cap before walking to the gate. She gave the security the pin he sent to her on whatsapp and she was allowed into the premises. She took a look around and it was like a combination of six luxury apartments. Getting a house here would cost a fortune actually and If not that the person that helped with her admission said living in hostel was compulsory for first year students, she wouldn't have gone to that place at all. This place smelled of money.
She walked to his apartment, number six and she raised her hands to knock before someone flung the door open and walked away leaving her at the door. Her mouth hung open in shock because she wasn't expecting such reception. She walked in with her slippers on and his next words made her want to hurl her phone at him.
"I believe you can see the color of the rug and you noticed that the rack outside is for your slippers and not bring them into my apartment" Demi said and she blinked back in shock, if she wasn't too angry she would have noticed how his voice had gotten deeper over the years. She closed her eyes and she willed herself not to get pissed off at his stupid self. She walked back outside before removing her slides and she cleaned her legs on the footmat before walking inside. He closed the door and Fade stood at the corner of the door waiting for him to bring whatever Katerina sent to her. He looked at her with raised brows before shrugging and he disappeared through a door.
Moments later, he brought back a medium box still wrapped in the logistics nylon and he tore it open right in her presence. She looked around the sitting room and her eyes caught sight of a frame. She remembered that frame sitting on his fridge so well, She made it for his graduation. That only meant one thing, he came around that day after his valedictory service.
"Nice frame you've got on your fridge though"She found herself blurting and she instantly regretted it. She just wanted a confirmation from him whether it was the frame she made or not. The look he gave her made her felt like the ground should open up and swallow her. She didn't know when Demi turned like this, It felt like there was character flip in me and she felt really uncomfortable. She couldn't believe she wasted her time trying to dress up to imress this rude thing.
"I've removed my things, the remaining things and the carton is yours. I believe your uber is still waiting." He said before picking up the smaller carton he removed from the pack and he dumped it on his study table. Fade took a look at the carton and she looked at him again, she concluded he mjust be mad. Because there's no toher reason for this stupid attitude he was giving her.
"Wait first, what the fuck is gong on here? I thoght we were friends oh abi what's with all these rubbish attitude you're giving me. Hian, na me fuck up shaa. I be dey rate us" Fade scoffed and he paused opening his own carton and he turned to face. Fade noticed the way his jaw twitched in anger, she crossed her arms over her chest waitiing for him to do his worst. Maybe because she had been looking at him moving mad since morning.
"What's Us? Which stupid Us? Maybe you need a reminder that you ruined "Us". I would gladly not have you anywhere in my space because your sight repel me. Maybe I need to make it clear to that stupid Femi to stop combining our things because I can't be having you on my space evry tie." He spat in disgust and Fade felt down. She watched him move to the fridge before cflingng the frame across the room making it shatter, she got her confirmation there. He came that day and he took the gift. She didn't know which one hurt more, maybe the words or the impact of the words in her mind.
"I can see you are still very much stupid as ever and see your stupid mouth like you ruined us. You're still very much bitter and pained and I feel for your life. Very irritating thing. Please send my things back to my sister and she would send it through the channel because having to go through an idipt like you every time is actaully giving me nightmares. Arindin." She spat back before she soun on her wheels and she left his aparttment. She made sure to bang his door extra hard and tears filled her eyes faster than ever. Not in one million years had she imagined a reunion like this.
Stephanie calling her name drew her mind away from her thoughts and she didn't even stop tp grant her audience. She idn't have enough time to order a ride so she hailed a bike instead. She didn't want Stephanie seeing her tears and the bike sped off leaving Stephanie shouting her name. Demi is very stupid.
