Flashback"Mom! Dad! Look I won the first prize for the dance competition." A 12 year old Wooyoung came running to his house, only to be stopped at the hallway.
His eyes went wide looking at the scene and the state his house was in. All the flower vases and photo frames were smashed and broken to pieces on the ground.
"Mom?"
"Dad?"
He called out, voice wavering. What if something happened to his parents? With tears flowing down his cheeks he ran inside to find his parents. He didn't care for the pain that came from the pieces of glass coming under his feet and all the bloody foot prints.
"Mom....??"
"D-dad? Dad! Where's mom?" He asked running to hug his dad. And to his shock, the man he called his father pushed him away as he stumbled and fell down, whincing at the pain.
"Don't you dare call me your dad!" The man roared and Wooyoung's breath hitched. What was he saying?
"Da-d what do y-ou mean?" He tried standing up to recieve a slap across his cheeks and cried out holding the area where it hurts.
"Sir, please don't hit him"
Suzy, their house maid, came running to save Wooyoung. "He's your son!" She cried, hiding the wide eyed boy behind her.
"At this point is he even?" The man roared. Wooyoung was terrified to say the least. He didn't even know what was happening and he was treated like this? Where is his mother?
"He is your son!" They all heard a voice and Wooyoung's eyes shined, looking at his mother as he ran to hug her but the woman only walked towards his father, not even looking at her child.
"Wooyoung is your son" she spoke again, desperate to get her words through.
"And you want me to believe that when you were cheating on me since the start?" The man scoffed and the words he spoke gave a shock to the young boy standing and watching all this.
Cheating? What does it even mean? His family was the happiest always, his mother was the best mother and a wonderful wife. She would never do that.
"I- I told you, we talked about this already! I wanted to tell you but then, I became pregnant and even after that I couldn't leave because of Wooyoung" the women answered.
Wooyoung was so lost and done with everything as he ran outside. His parents didn't care about him anymore. His foot hurt like hell. The torphy in his hand hurt as well from holding too tight on it.
He just ran wherever he could until he stumbled over someone, still crying. "Hey are you okay?" He heard a soft voice, and because his eyes were fogged with tears he couldn't even see the boy's face.
Wooyoung hugged him tight, crying his heart out. The boy simply patted his back. "It's fine. It'll be ok." Were the comforting words the boy spoke.
Once Wooyoung calmed down, the boy who was actually the same age as Wooyoung took him to sit on a bench and it was also when he realised he was in the park, near his house.
"Your feet hurts right? Just a second"
The boy ran inside a house, probably his, and came back with a first aid box. "I don't know how to do it but my grandmom does" he stated, "Haneul, go call ganny" the boy smiled at Wooyoung, his dimples on full show as Wooyoung simply stared in awe.
"Why were you crying?" The boy asked and the reality hit Wooyoung again. He started crying once again, "h-hey, I'm sorry." The boy apologized.
"My m-om doesn't love me" he answered between sobs. "My dad doesn't love me" he cried even more and the boy was totally confused on what to do.
"Wooyoung-ah. You're here" Wooyoung turned his head to look at Suzy coming towards him. "Come home darling." She spoke hugging Wooyoung.
"I don't want to. They don't even want me" he cried.
"Yes don't take him! He doesn't want to go" the boy who had helped Wooyoung spoke and hearing the commotion his family came out.
"Choi San, what happened?" His granny called out and came towards him.
He told everything to his parents and granny. They looked at each other and then at Suzy. "Please take care of him." San's granny spoke and Suzy nodded taking the boy, whose feet were now treated, towards home.
He sat at a corner, quiet and sulking. His dad was busy with preparing what seemed like divorce papers and Suzy sat next to Wooyoung for the whole time.
"Where's mom?" He asked in a monotonous voice.Suzy didn't knew what to say and so Wooyoung looked up to her. "Where is she? You can tell me"
The maid sighed, "she won't live here" Suzy stated. Wooyoung simply nodded with a sad look. "What about me? She will leave me?" He questioned and Suzy quickly shook his head, "she will still come to see you. Don't worry baby"
And that night Wooyoung had cried a lot, he cried to sleep. His mom left him with his dad, she didn't love him. She didn't love him, she wanted to leave him already but couldn't. She pitied him. He was pitied. He was lied. He was told his mom would come see him from time to time and
it's been seven years he hadn't seen his mom.
For 12 years she just pretended that she loved Wooyoung. She pretended to love. She didn't really love. Is love even real?
His dad takes care of him. But did he really care? He just fed him and sent him to school, because apparently his mom begged to. That Wooyoung needs to be with him.
He doesn't even pretend. Pretend that he cares.
After saying at home for a month after all this happened, Wooyoung walked out of the house for the first time, only to find the boy who had helped him. And that's when he learned, the boy was here for holidays and had gone back to Namhae.
Wooyoung sighed, nothing in life came without trouble.
