The Shopping Trip Of Doom

"I hereby announce that Miss Phoebe will be Vice-Commander of the Knights!" King announced.

There was quite a bit of applause from my classmates and Renee when King announced the fact that I was to be appointed as Vice-Commander of the Knights. I was pleased as well. I might be able to prevent Renee's death now!

After the whole ceremony, I was given one day to move into my new room and adjust before starting my knightly duties. This precious day was going to be spent with Luna. She was quite distressed over the possibility of me joining the knights.

She was happy that I had been given such a high standing position, but she said that she still was worried for my safety. I told her that she shouldn't be so worried, nevertheless she still insisted that she had to worry.

And that left me spending my entire free day with Luna.

"I absolutely have to explore the town with you!" She insisted. "The King graciously gave all of us a little bit of money and had someone explain the new currency to us. Now that we have a steady allowance, we should go use some of it!"

"If you insist." I sighed.

It wasn't that I didn't want to spend time with Luna or that I didn't like shopping. It was just, shopping with Luna was... let's just say if I wasn't careful, it could end up lasting a lot longer than needed.

One time, I ended up spending three entire days shopping with her. We even rented hotel rooms near the mall! Too much shopping! That day we came home with a mountain of bags. I had an entire extra wardrobe after that.

Not something that I wanted to experience again. Once was one time too many.

It might not sound bad, that is, until you experience it first hand. Bella could relate with me. She also went on a shopping trip with Luna.

After that, she avoided Luna like the plague and with good reason too. Shopping trips with Luna were like taking a trip to Disney Land during the summer. Not fun and super strenuous.

This world wasn't modern, and they took carriages around. That or ridable monsters; Horsgons(A breed of horse that had a weak connection to Dragons), Lizards(Yes, the Lizard mounts just like the ones in Musho Tensei) and the rare cases of tamed monsters are just some of the monsters that are used as transportation.

Wait! I forgot the Giant Pigs! They are just like you can imagine. Oversized pigs. They are intelligent and are mostly used the same as a draft horse. In some rare cases, a person can ride them, if they feel like moving unimaginably slow.

And yes, Luna and I took a carriage pulled by silver unicorns. Very stylish, but also a huge attention attraction. If someone wanted to let everyone know that they were there, riding in a cart pulled by unicorns is the way to go.

Personally, that was way too much attention, but hey, Luna wanted them, not me. I think riding in a carriage pulled by unicorns was the best part of this entire summoning for her.

As soon as we were let out of the carriage, Luna pulled me around to all of the shops in the near vicinity. We went to about ten different stores, all of them for clothes, and I was forced to try on a bazillion different outfits she thought would go with my new body.

Then she had to find outfits that she looked good in, and I had to judge them. I may be a girl, but my fashion sense is basically an anime fashion sense. If I like it, Luna probably doesn't, which makes it extremely hard to shop together. Also, it's hard to judge her outfits since our taste is completely different.

She finally settled on ten outfits for me. At one point, I gave up and just let her pick everything out for me. If she chose this trip would be over faster. That was my whole goal; to get this trip over with as quickly as possible. I needed to get a good rest after this and before I started my work as a Vice-Commander.

"Oooh, look over here! This is a jewelry store! It has so many nice things in it!" Luna exclaimed.

Thus, I was dragged over to the jewelry store and was forced to look at all of the different jewels. I never was one to wear jewelry, but so I could keep Luna happy, I explored the jewelry.

Most of the pieces were boring, and normal. Nothing stood out to me. At least, not until I saw that. It was the most stunning piece of jewelry I had every seen. It was a simple necklace, but it was made out of abnormal materials. Even in the game I hadn't seen anything like this.

I just had to buy it, I had to. I looked at the price tag, only to see it listed at a whopping sixteen hundred jewels. I counted my money, and found that I only had ten hundred jewels. I needed six hundred more.

"Umm, Luna? I need a favor." I told her.

"What?" She asked.

"Could you lend me six hundred jewels please? I need six hundred more in order to be able to purchase something that I really want." I begged.

Luna's face lit up when I told her I wanted to buy a piece of jewelry. She happily lent me the rest of her money, which fortunately added up to six hundred jewels. Luna lent me the money free of charge, because she was over joyed that I had wanted to buy something off my own free will.

Once I bought the necklace, both of us were completely broke. That meant that we had to end our shopping trip really early. I secretly cheered. I had another reason to like that necklace. It had gotten me out of a late day of shopping!
