Chapter One
Tonight at a well known law firm there will be a party for a law firm business. Rose, being one of the employees, must attend. The parties gave her something to look forward to, in a way that she gets to meet new people that have just joined the firm, or those that she will soon be working with. The only downside of these parties is that sometimes not everyone gets along, and then some start drinking. Well, one may rest their case, for we know what is possible when people get a hold of booze.
Tonight Rose wore one of her favorite white tank tops underneath her thin white button down blouse, and a black thin pencil skirt. She loves the way it goes with the curve of her body. The young woman may be thin, but not too thin, having curves in all of the right places. Her brunette hair flowed in waves down her back as she put on the last touches of nude lipstick, then snatched the nude matching purse from her bedroom.
Rose is a young woman who works for her father to gain experience at the firm which she has been gaining for the past three years; although feeling moments of wanting to quit, but always pushing through. It's not that she hated what she was doing, just sometimes the job can cause one to feel like they could achieve more. Generally spending most of her free time with her head in a book, whether it's reading for fun or studying for classes, or even writing papers, Rose hasn't many other outlets. Being the daughter of a highly known business man can be a bit overwhelming at times. I don't get to spend much time with dad since mom died. He works himself too hard, trying to keep his mind off of it. I know he still cares about mom, and he cares about me too, I just think I remind him too much of her.
Unlocking and getting into her new silver dodge viper and driving through the city to get to the firm. Once She arrived and entered the building, Rose almost immediately saw her dad with a glass of scotch. Great, this is going to be a long night.

Carl, one of the many guys that work for dad, walked over to me with a glass of wine in his hand. "Hey Rose?"
"Hi, Carl, how are you?" I asked him, trying to be as polite as possible, as if I didn't really know him. Lets just say he isn't the best guy to hang around with sometimes, but he can be nice to have at the same time. I noticed that since I started working here, not many guys spoke to me, only Carl. I was okay with it, but I mean was there something wrong with me, or did dad tell everyone else to leave me be? Was Carl the only one that wasn't afraid?
"Better now that you're here."
"Carl..." Dragging his name out. Trying to think of what to say to him. Why not have some fun? A cruel little smile tugged on my lips. He seemed to pick up on where this would be going as he spoke his next words.
"Come on Rose, one date, that is all that I am asking for." His own grin appeared.
"Carl, we are friends, we work together, nothing more. Okay?" How far can I take this today."Think about it?" Taking a sip from his glass and raising a brow at me, I nodded and agreed to think about it. He is a good friend, but when it comes to dating, he can be a bit, how should I say it, not so nice, at least that's what I have heard. But did I listen to any of it?Of course not.
Carl stood with me, and we talked about random things, such as; the weather, his new camaro he got yesterday, my studying, and of course, dad.
"Are you going to need a ride home there Carl?" I asked as he stumbled slightly when he took a step back to look at me better.
