Adrien and Chat Noir stood and looked around for them. When they couldnt find them at the Eiffel tower, they checked Marinette's house, but they weren't there either. They scoured the entirety of Paris, Adrien transforming into Bugaboy to help him go faster, but they found no trace of Ladybug or Marinette.

After two months, they had no choice but to give up. Hawkmoth akumatized people as usual, but when Ladybug didn't show up to fight them, he slowed his efforts, thinking it was a trick. Instead, he focused more on his son, who he had caught crying in his room almost every night.

Adrien had to tell Alya what happened the day after the fight when Marinette didn't show up at school and Alya almost started a riot. Chat Noir and Adrien contacted the mayor and he told Nadia Chamack to set up a televised video call.

"Don't be bemused, it's just the news. This is Nadia Chamack here with Chat Noir and Adrien Agreste. These two have something they would like to say." Her voice was cheery and bright. The boys looked at each other then back at the camera. Chat Noir spoke first.

"Hello Paris. If you didn't notice, there have been less and less akumatizations lately." He stopped, took a deep breath and continued. "The reason for this is Ladybug has been missing for two months, along with a student at François Dupont high school, Marinette Dupain-Cheng.'' Nadia gasped. Chat broke off and looked away. Adrien picked up the story.

"A couple months ago, Marinette had been akumatized. She became Princess Justice, a woman bent on revenge. Ladybug found that whenever Princess Justice got hurt, she felt it too. And vice versa." Chat Noir, having composed himself, picked it up from there.

"Adrien and I were fighting Princess Justice, but we were losing. Badly. M'lady must have gotten an idea, but she did her lucky charm anyway, hoping for a better one. The lucky charm turned out to be..." Chat Noir trailed off, a tear trickling down his cheek. "Sorry." He turned away and wiped his face. Adrien rubbed Chat's shoulder, comforting him, and continued the story.

"The lucky charm was a miniature version of Princess Justice's weapon, a dagger. I had knocked the dagger out of Princess Justice's hand and Ladybug had picked it up. The lucky charm confirmed it was the only solution." He paused then continued. "She plunged the dagger into her own stomach, knowing it was the only way to save us." Adrien started crying and Chat wrapped his arms around him.

"I captured the akuma and helped her do her miraculous ladybug. She handed her miraculous to me to give to someone else and both girls disappeared with the ladybugs that fixed everything." Adrien covered the camera with his hand, disrupting the connection, and they both started sobbing.
