Cw: Katsuki antics, verbal abuse, hints of child abuse (Endeavour tings), social anxiety/paranoia
Physical training usually went fine. It was usually normal. Everybody just practicing their combat skills and perfecting the use of their quirks. This time shouldn't have been different but it was.
It all started because Shoto couldn't get out of his own damn head. He liked ignoring everything around him, preferring to stay in his head or daydream. Of course, that wasn't exactly good for physical training because if he wasn't paying attention he could get hurt and-
"Half 'n half bastard!" Bakugo roared. Shoto glanced up at him with a mildly dazed expression. Was he in a conversation right now? He hadn't been paying much attention. The blonde ball of anger was stomping over. If there was one thing Shoto really, properly hated about Katsuki Bakugo, it was how annoyingly loud he was.
Todoroki hated when people yelled at him. It always ended up reminding him of his father. Obviously, Bakugo was no Endeavour but he was certainly loud and violent. Most of the time, Shoto would just try to ignore the boy's shouting but it could get hard sometimes.
"I'm fuckin' talkin' to you!"
"You are?"Todoroki peered down at the floor again. As far as he could tell, he hadn't done anything wrong yet. Why was Bakugo mad with him already? Oh, yes, it really did remind him of Endeavour...
No, he must not think about his father right now; he's in the middle of training. Thinking about his father too much makes him spiral and Shoto isn't about to cry in front of his classmates.
"What do you think you're fuckin' doin'? I'll tell ya! You're doin' nothing! You'll never be as good a hero as me, Icy-hot! At least I put in the damn work!" Katsuki snarled, shoving his face right up close to Shoto's. Bakugo's breath was hot and his crimson eyes glittered with detest.
"Kacchan, leave him alone."
"Shut up, Deku!"Todoroki wiped Bakugo's stray spit off of his cheek. It was so strange. On one hand, Bakugo was just some kid with an intense quirk and messed up ego but on the other hand, he could be so frightening. He was just a kid, just like Todoroki.
"Just wait, I'll blow you into pieces." The blonde snarled, smoke wafting from his palm. Those gauntlets were so clunky. Was he still mad about the sports festival? Shoto stepped back, yawning.
"You yell too much." he commented. Bakugo's palm crackled. Oh, he was mad alright. Though, he paused, seemingly recalling a memory. He snorted, straightening his back.
"Don't act like you're better than me." Katsuki began. "I remember the other week where I barely said a thing to you and you went away looking like an injured puppy." he hissed, a smug look coming across his face. "And I didn't miss how Deku had to chase after you. You're like a pathetic little kid. You're a waste of such a powerful quirk."
Todoroki's calm and composed manner suddenly shifted to more of an act. His stomach twisted. Bakugo had realised something had been up with him? Wait, if Katsuki noticed, who else had?
"Hey, Bakugo, I need you for something, dude." Kirishima chimed in, resting his hand on his friend's shoulder and somewhat wheeling him away from Todoroki. Bakugo snorted, flouncing away with him. Shoto just watched them go. Who else had noticed? If his regression was that obvious, who else had secretly figured it out?
