- End of Flashback-
I started crying, and thinking about all the good times my father and I experienced. I remembered when I was little my dad and I use to stay up late on Friday's which was movie night and watch scary movies. I loved watching them, but after they were over I had to sleep in my parents room because I would be too scared to go to sleep. Every Friday, when my dad will pick me up from school we would ride to the store and get snacks to eat for movie night. We always went outside to play sports like basketball, soccer, etc. As you can see my Dad and I had a great father-daughter relationship. He was and still is the best dad in the world.
"Honey, are you all packed." My mom said creeping into my room.
"Almost." I said looking down.
"Honey, have you been crying?"
"Yes." I said sadly. "I'm going to miss it here. My friends, our family, my school."
"I know how you feel, Honey. But this is for the better, the better for both you and me."
"I guess." I said quietly.
As I finished packing I looked around my room. I've lived in this house since I was born. It's like a childhood memory getting pulled out your heart. I went into the bathroom and washed my face. I stared into the mirror for a couple seconds and left. I double-checked to see if I had everything, picked up my luggage, and walked downstairs.
"Do you have everything?" Mom said.
"Yes."
"Are you ready to go?'
"Yes, let's go."
As I walked to the door I looked around the house one last time, and you could see the tears forming in my eyes. I'm leaving my house, friends, and family.
"You understand this is for the better, right Jayla?'
"Yes, I understand mother. I understand."
Then, as I turned around the taxi cab honked.
"Let's go!" Mom said.
"Let's go!" I faked smiled.
