Irrefutable Fate

CHAPTER 4

5 days before the board exam and here I am day and night reviewing. Nag leave na muna ako sa aking pinagtratrabahuhan para makapag focus sa pag rereview. Kaunting kembot nalang doctor na.

I studied for almost 10 hours already. Hindi na pumapasok sa utak ko ang ibang binabasa ko and I decided to come out of my room and went to my daughter's room.

"Amaris?" I said it almost like a whisper. It's 8 pm in the evening. Probably watching some barbie together with Wynona and Aldrix.

"Mommy?" I heard her said it with a sleepy voice. "Come in mommy" upon saying that, I immediately go in her room.

"Ate patulog na siya eh. Ayun nagising dahil narinig boses mo" reklamo ni Wynona. Mahirap kasi patulugin itong batang ito.

"Sorry naman po" patawa kong sabi.

"Ikaw na ate magpa tulog sa kanya. Labas na kami" sabi naman ni Aldrix at ako ay tumango. Lumabas ang dalawa kong kapatid.

"Okay let's sleep Amaris. Mommy just came here to get an inspiration and motivation from you" I hugged my daughter and sleep carried the two of us.

As soon as the results came out and my name is on the of Physician Licensure Examination. My two doctor bestfriends, my two siblings,my daughter and I went to the beach. It was just 10 minutes ride from Kelly and Vivian's tito's house.

"Yehey! We're here na" The kids immediately jumped put from the car and went jumping by the sand. Only Viv, Kelly and me are still inside Kelly's car. "A perfect wheather it is" Viv said at lumingon siya sa akin. "I hope he's not here" then she smiled devilishly and went out the car and I just rolled my eyes. "Move on na ako diyan" sabi ko naman. "Not untik you see him again" this time it's Kelly who looked at me then wink. Before I can roll my eyes nth time inside this car I went out and get some of our foods at the back of the car then Kelly came also to help us.

"Kelly do you believe that part of growing up is being forgetful?" Asked by Vivian habang kami ay nag-iihaw sa lilim ng munting kubo na ito. I got curious why would Vivian utter some question out of the blue.

"Oo naman. Meaning tumatanda ka na. Bakit may nakalimutan ka ba Vivian? Tanda mo na kase mag asawa ka na" Sabi ni Kelly while shaking her head in disappointment but like a form of mockery. Natawa naman ako sa dalawang magkapatid na ito. Tumingin ako sa dalampasigan at tanaw ko sila Aldrix, Wynona at Amaris na bumubuo ng sand castle. A mere sight of them being like that make my heart flutter.

"At bat napunta sa pag-aasawa aber? and I am not forgetful na like you. You forgot to bring drinks" pagkarinig ko sa sabi ni Vivian ay lumingon ako sa basket na dala ko kanina kase sure naman ako nakita ko na may drinks kami na binili. I saw 3 coke and 2 royal.

"Ayun oh Viv." Tinuro ko sa kanila iyong basket with full of soft drinks. "Part na ba rin ng growing up yung mabulag" dagdag ko pa at kami'y tumawa ni Kelly.

Vivian rolled her eyes at us and we laugh "Duh. I'm not referring to those. I'm referring to the drinks you" at tumingin siya sa akin. "Had that made you feel hot and high and after it there you have it." Then she looked at Amaris. One thing Vivian had, kung pinagtutulungan na siya at napipikon siya gaganti rin siya and she'll make sure you na tagos ang sinabi niya pero hindi naman ako affected sa sinabi niya.

"Hoy Vivian bibig mo talaga. Pikunin ka  talaga. I pity your patients" natawa naman si Kelly habang sabi niya iyon.
"Throw me a stone and I'll throw knives" Vivian said it then winked at us. Natawa na lamang kami.

"Mommy!" I heard Amaris shout it kaya naman lumingon ako sa kanya. Nakita ko na tumatalon siya sa saya kasi natapos na nilang gawin ang munting sand castle na kanina pa nila ginagawa. "Wow! It's so nice baby" I shouted back at her which made her much happy and she hugged her tito and tita. Bumalik ang tingin ko sa aming iniihaw.

"Guys, do you remember the Doc Alvin Santillan?" Kelly said. "If yes. He will come and join us." Kelly must read our face expression na nagtatanong at muli ito'y nagsalita. "I posted an IG myday then he replied asking where are we then I sent our location then after it he immediately sent a running ticker followed by a car. Sheez! So weird." She wiggled na parang diring diri ito.

"Grabe ko sa Doctor na iyon. Hottie rin iyon ah!" Kinikilig na sabi naman ni Vivian. Harot nitong magkapatid na ito sa totoo lang. "Sabihin mo na rin na bumili ng hard drinks" sabi ko naman para atleast may ambag siya kung pupunta siya rito.

We are eating barbeque at the moment. "Drinks are here" rinig namin na boses ng isang lalaki. Lumingon kami at si Doc Alvin na iyon. Halatang kakatapos lang ng duty niya sa hospital kasi yung outfit niya iyon palagi ginagamit niya during his duty. He came inside this little nut and put the hard drinks on the table.

"Congrats Lyra for passing the PLE" after he said it he sat beside me. Vivian and Kelly's face are intriguing then they face each other and as if they are telepathically communicating they make a face. This two siblings and there mind really.

"Hi!" Said by my daughter who is eating beside me. "Are you a doctor too? Like my mommy amd my tita's?" Pagtatanong nito sa katabi kong lalaki. Amaris kailan ka pa naging interviewer.

"Yes." Replied by Doc Alvin. "Hhhmm what made you say that I'm a doctor?" Tankng naman nito sa aking anak. "Simply po because doctors usually have that kind of outfit and when you parked your car earlier then you open your door I saw a white coat just like my mother inside your car so I think you are a doctor" Amaris retaliated. Kelly is clapping at the other side of the bench of this hut as if she is very proud and Vivian just stated "That's my baby" while my two siblings just laugh. I can see the face of Doc Alvin like he was taken a back by my daughter's reply.
"Nice observations, huh." Sabi nitog katabi ko. Amaris really have his father's skills and all. Bata pa lang ito ay magaling na talaga pagdating sa interrogation.

After that beach get away. Doc Alvin always makes he's way to talk to my daughter. He said that nakaka aliw daw talaga iyong bata. "Hoy Lyra paano maging ikaw?" Tanong ni Kelly nang pumunta sa doctor's lounge at ibigay ang bulaklak na bigay ni Doc Alvin. "Di' niya daw maibigay sayo kasi busy dami patient" Umalis na din agad si Kelly dahil may rounds pa siya. Kinuha ko ang bulaklak at nilagay nalang doon sa vase sa may center table dito at umuwi na rin.

The doctor's lounge is at 12th floor of this building. Nasa elevator na ako pababa sa 1st floor kung saan ako dadaan papuntang basement. The elevator made a sound indicating that I am at the 1st floor. Slowly the doors open and the first person that I fixated my sight into made me want to regret the decision that I will go home early.
