Watching from the rooftops, his heart skipped a beat as he saw who the Sandman was. And who he was with. He had never expected such a turn of events, but then again life had been surprising him time after time during this reincarnation. He had never met them in real life, but he had played video games with both Mark and Yami. The man knew that it was best not to disturb the Sandman at this point in time, but he was running out of time. If it had already spilled blood, he knew that he would be next.

He hadn't even realized what had happened when he became aware of the situation. One minute he was lounging at home, the next he was rushing to save his friend, who had called him in a panicked fear. But by the time he had reached the building, it was too late, and the beast had started to chase him. At this point, he had been running for almost an entire day, and exhaustion was settling in.

Running to the next person in the city, who he was certain was awake, the unknown man's heart began to beat faster as his blood ran cold suddenly. The energy that was closing in on him...... It was the creature who had killed the first of them. Running with all of his might, using the wind to carry him higher and propel him further, he tried to beat the beast in the race for survival. But they both knew that he was going to lose in the end.

Letting out a final cry of agony as he came to terms with his fate, the unknown man fell swiftly as a shard of the shadow creature's weapon pierced his chest, leaving a fatal wound. His blood was racing to catch up with his body as he fell, but he hit the ground first, his blood cascading down onto him a split second later. The beast smiled wickedly as he approached the fallen man, his blood lust barely whetted after this second kill. He would need the others to satisfy his lust, but for now this one man would have to suffice.

"Mmm, blood is always better warm... But cold always tastes sweeter..."

The beast chuckled to himself, watching as the man's eyes widened with horror one final time, before they shut softly, the life now gone from him. It was a pity that he couldn't torture him like the last, but spilling his blood was still just as satisfying. As he approached the body, it became hyper aware of his surroundings, his elation rising. He knew that with this kill, Death himself would be present. He was always present at each death, even for just a split second. In a blink of an eye, the shadow creature had spun around, a hand gripped painfully around Death's neck.

"Long time, no see. My, how you've grown~"

"You leave us alone, you monster."

"Aw, no warm welcoming for me? After all these years?"

"We were fine when you were gone. I knew dad should have killed you when he had the chance."

"Don't say that I'm better off dead, 'cause heaven's full and hell won't have me."

"You should have never been brought into existence, you abomination."

Cry spat, choking for air as the being tightened his grip around his neck. It chuckled as he pulled the mask off of Cry's face, tossing into to the ground next to them, revealing Cry's courageous, yet frightened eyes. Licking Cry's cheek, the beast brought his mouth to Cry's ear, nipping on it as he breathed hot air into it, causing him to involuntarily shudder.

"Hmm, if only I could do that. See, what you may not remember is that mommy and daddy did something baaad to me. You and your sister were so young, maybe that's why they altered your memories... But nonetheless, your parents did something unspeakable to me. And that, my dear, is why I became something even worse. And now, since your whore mother couldn't keep her legs shut, I'm going to kill all of her children, starting with one of my least favorite group of people: the elements. They have always been so useless, you know? Now with Air and Earth out of the way, I simply need to find Fire and Water to eliminate them all together."

"And what are you going to do with me?"

"Well, as enticing as this body that you have is, my lust has been sustained for the night with Air's corpse. For now, I'll let you go, but don't fret. I'm not going to make the same mistake as I did before. Go ahead, go cry for mommy and daddy, but not even they will be able to save you this time."

Kissing Cry suddenly, the creature bit his lips harshly with his razor sharp teeth, drawing enough blood so that it began to trickle down his chin. Releasing his prey as he lapped up some of the blood, it suddenly stamped onto Cry's mask, shattering it into too many pieces. Cry glared at the beast, but decided to run before it attacked him again. As he ran home, he tried to stop the flow of blood from his lips, but it was useless. He would have to wait for it to stop on its own.

Meanwhile, back at the corpse, the beast smiled with satisfaction as he returned to the corpse, which was still quite warm, much to his liking. He knew that once he had his fill, he would need to bury both corpses so the cops wouldn't find them. He had never been one for human flesh, but the blood of any being like himself was like ecstasy. It was so addicting, he would almost be sad once he had killed them all. But nothing would ever be sweeter than the taste of revenge.
