"So... where do we start looking?"
Jack questioned, hushing his voice in case other people were near by. Since the incident in Ireland just yesterday, the group had swiftly flown to Canada, leaving Krism and Felix behind to assure their safety, as the Swedish man had still not fully recovered from the attack. They knew the beast wouldn't attack them. They weren't his main target. They were now situated on the harbor side of the coastal city, near where the ferries docked. The crew were all huddled by one of the many dilapidated homes, only partially covered by the shadows of the swiftly approaching night.
"Well, since you have that invisibility potion, I think it's best that you go searching the places. He'll sense us if we get any closer, but you're human with magic, so he won't pick up your aura right away."
"But, since I'm human, won't that mean he can kill me easier? My magic may be good, but it can't bring back the dead..."
"Don't worry Sean, we'll be right here. If you're not back in fifteen minutes, then we'll go searching for you. Now remember, it likes the darkness, so if there's light on in any of them, I can guarantee they won't be in there. Ready?"
"Ready as I'll ever be."
Jack sighed, dropping his bag to his feet, careful not to break any of the bottles inside. Pulling out the invisibility potion, the Irish man also slipped another bottle out, dropping it into his pocket in a link of an eye. With a few hugs and final words of encouragement, Jack began to walk over towards the warehouses, ingesting the bitter liquid as he went. Never would he have expected anything like this to happen. He had thought his magic would have gone into disuse; allowing the Irish man to finally let the family tradition rest. But now, here he was, and without it, he would have surely been dead at this point.
As the affects of the first bottle began to sink in, Jack pulled out the second bottle, smirking at its clear contents under the pale moonlight. It was a small vile of liquid speed, in case he needed to get out quick. Though he was skeptical that he was going to find anything. It was suspicious that the creature would give them their location so easily, but at the same time, they could be falling into a trap. Which would explain why he wanted them there.
Suddenly frozen by a wave of dread, Jack noticed that he had been lost in thought, and that he had veered off track. Instead of going for the first dark building in the area, his instincts had led him to one that he hadn't even noticed before. Smaller than the rest and obviously misused, it was tucked right behind one of the other warehouses, unseen by the group by the house. Taking in a deep breath to gather courage, Jack went inside, careful not to make any noise. Even if he was invisible, he could still alert the creature that he was here.
Inching towards the back of the room, Jack was on high alert; his body tensed, ready for flight. Something wasn't right, his instincts may have told him to go here, but they also warned him of an unseen threat. If wasn't for sheer will power, he would have already bolted out of the room, regardless if their friends were in the building or not.
The evening was eerily quiet; not even a car nor boat was to be heard. Dirt crunched softly beneath his sneakers, his breathing slow and steady as his heart beat furiously, dominating almost all other sounds. Not a single thing was to be found in the main floor, only a bit of dust collected from time. But still he carried on, approaching a single steel door at the other end of the warehouse. Knowing the door was going to make noise, as most doors would do in this type of situation, Jack pulled out the bottle of liquid speed, knowing he'd need to act fast. But as he lifted the bottle to his lips, something caught his attention causing him to drop it, sending it smashing to the ground.
