Wait For Me In The Stars

Jack X Reader

You sat in the dust and the dirt. You didn't care. It was dark out. You still didn't care. You wanted it to be dark. You wanted the quietness. It helped you get your thought clear. Tears fell down your face but you were smiling. Hell you even chuckled at some point. You were going through old memories in your head. You smiled and wiped a tear away. Sighing, you looked up at the stars. You whispered ever so softly, "Thank you."

The ding of the elevator nearly caused you to jump out of your skin. Looking behind you, you saw Jack. All the humans, except June and Fowler, were having a sleepover at the base. You had snuck away without anyone noticing. Or so you thought. The scrawny boy sat next to you. He gently put a hand on your shoulder and looked at you worried. "Hey. I saw you walk off earlier. Are you ok?" He noticed your tears and his eyes went wide. He took your face in both his hands, "Oh no, did Miko say something to offend you? Did you hurt yourself?"

You gave Jack a smile and rested your hands on his wrists. You shook your head and took his hands in yours. "I'm fine, Jack. Just looking at the stars. Remembering memories."

You knew he could see the sadness in your eyes but didn't press on about it. Instead he wrapped an arm around you. A breeze had came along and he saw you shivering. "What do you remember?" He asked. You smiled up at him before leaning you head against his shoulder. "I remember family. My best friend. Everyone I've lost. Heh, one time, me and f/n got into so much trouble. We had gotten caught. We snuck out one night while having a sleepover. We had gone to this party. We didn't drink or smoke anything. No nothing like that. Instead, we taped up pictures of memes we had printed out. All over this persons house. And everyone was so out of it they didn't notice us. We got caught coming back though. They forgot to leave their window unlocked."

Jack laughed from above you. For the rest of the night, you told him memory after memory of everyone. He didn't mind it in the slightest. He would ask questions and laugh with you. When you teared up again, he would wipe them away. You had looked up at the stars with tears eyes and whispered softly, "I just hope they're waiting for me in the stars."

At some point you had dozed off. Before he could notice you asleep, he nodded off too. Later that night, Bumblebee, Arcee, Bulkhead, Miko, and Raf all came looking for their missing friends. When they checked outside, they saw you and Jack asleep. The two of you were tangled in each other trying to keep the other warm. Miko and Raf quickly took photographic evidence before Bumblebee carefully picked you two up, careful not to wake you, and took you inside. He set you on the couch, your head on Jacks chest. Before Bee could move Jack, his arms instinctively wrapped around you. Bee made a sound and laid a blanket over the two of you. You two were never gonna hear the end of it when you wake up.
