His Safe Place | Kim Taehyung

Part 2

Following the same routine for a week you were exhausted. You were only getting two hours of sleep which was not enough for your tired body. Coming out of the restaurant at midnight you decided to go home, take a shower and rest. You called the doctor to inquire about your mother.

Arriving at your house you saw Taehyung outside your door. "What are you doing here?" You were shocked. "I am here to meet you." Taehyung did ask you to meet him but due to your busy schedules you couldn't meet him. And moreover you didn't want him to know what you were going through.

You nodded and opened the door. You offered him a glass of water then headed to take a long hot shower. You didn't care about Taehyung waiting for you. You just wanted your body to relax. After forty minutes you got out of the shower and dressed in your pajamas and went to the living room to meet Taehyung. You saw him in the kitchen eating some snacks. 'Why is he so comfortable?' You thought to yourself.

"What do you want to talk about?" You made yourself comfortable on the couch. "Why are you not attending the classes?" "Did you really come to my house to ask this?" You groaned. You just wanted to sleep today. "Y/n answer my question." His voice was stern. "I am busy with something so I won't be attending the classes for a while." But you didn't know Taehyung knew everything.

"Y/n don't lie to me. You dropped out, didn't you?" He questioned, more like a rhetorical question. You were speechless.'How does he know?' Was the only thing running in your mind. "Your mother is in the hospital. You are working here and there for that." He continued. "How did you know?" But the next thing he spoke shook you to the core.

"Y/n, marry me." Taehyung looked into your eyes.

"What! Taehyung, have you gone mad?" You were baffled by the nonsense he was talking about. "Marry me and I will pay for your mother's surgery." "I can arrange the money on my own. I don't want your pity." You spoke through gritted teeth.

"I am not pitting you. It is a deal. You marry me and I will pay for your mother's surgery. And you know it very well that you can't arrange that large amount of money in two months. You can't be that selfish to let your mother die. Think about it and call me tomorrow." With that Taehyung left the place.

You walked to your bedroom and broke down. "How come he knows everything? How can he ask for such a thing as marriage? How can he take advantage of my helpless situation? Marrying him means my career will be finished. But mom? I can't let her die because of my selfishness. I want my mom in my life. I don't know what to do." These thoughts roamed in your head. You cried on your pillow letting it absorb all your unspeakable pain. Unknowingly you fell asleep, letting darkness cover your sight.

Waking up early in the morning due to the sunlight peeking through the curtains and falling onto you, you turned around to see the clock. Squinting your eyes to see better you saw it was already 9 am. You laid there looking at the ceiling thinking about Taehyung.

You heard the bell ring and went to see who it was. Upon opening the door you saw Taehyung. "What are you doing here?" "I brought you breakfast. I ate everything last night." He said holding the take out in front of you. You sighed and let him in.

You were eating while looking at Taehyung. He acted like last night didn't happen. "Why did you ask me to marry you?" You couldn't digest the fact. He sighed. "My father is trying to marry me off with a girl for his company's profit." "Your mother didn't say anything?" "She is dead." Taehyung's face fell.

"Why me?" "I will answer it at the correct time. What did you think about the deal?"

You were quiet for sometime. You didn't know if the answer you were about to give would be good or bad for you, but your mother was your first priority. "I will marry you." Taehyung mentally smiled. "Let's go to the marriage registration office." He smiled. You sighed and nodded.
