"Can I come in?" It was Taehyung's father. You were hesitant at first. Although he was someone close to Taehyung, he hurt him. He was the cause that his son drifted off to the wrong path. You didn't want Mr. Kim to hurt Taehyung again and you also can't tell him to go back. "Please come in." You moved aside and allowed him to enter. "I will call Taehyung." He nodded.
You went to the kitchen and told Mrs. Lee to give him some snacks. You rushed to your bedroom to see Taehyung hugging your pillow. "Tae." You called him. "I don't want to talk with you." He turned his face to the other side. "Tae, Mr. Kim is here." He looked at you and furrowed his eyes. "Why is he here again? Tell him to go." He spoke with an angry voice. "Tae, just talk with him once, with a calm head. Don't get angry. Just listen to what he has to tell." You combed his hair with your hand. "Hmm."
You handed him the crutches and both of you went downstairs. Seeing Taehyung, Mr. Kim's expression changed. There was something in his eyes. Maybe... guilt? Taehyung didn't look at his father and sat in front of him on the opposite side. "Why are you here?" Taehyung asked, clearly annoyed by his father's presence but Taehyung tried to talk to him like the way you suggested.
"About the company-" Mr. Kim was cut off by Taehyung. "How many times do I need to tell you that I don't want to do anything with your company?" He raised his voice. You immediately put your hand on his shoulder and gently squeezed it. "No, I'm not here to tell you to join the company. I need money. The company is going bankrupt after what happened with the Chois." Mr. Kim said.
"You can use the money which you used to send to the bank account you made for me after mom died." Taehyung said. How ironic, the money which Mr. Kim was once refusing to give to Taehyung if he didnt marry Jullian was the money Mr. Kim needed so desperately. Now he was the person to go to Taehyung to ask for help. One should not show much arrogance when they have money and power cause it could go away once you start to see money as the only source of getting what you want. It was true that money blinded people in many ways. Once those who earned a lot of money start to see others as nothing. They ended up discriminating against other people to the point that none of them wished for such a life. Even the poor wanted to give their children a fruitful life, full of happiness and joy. And that money couldn't buy happiness if the love required to be together was not given.
Even though Mr. Kim was rich, his greediness or obsession with money broke his sweet little family because he thought his wife wouldn't go away because he has money while on the other hand, you, who belonged from a middle class family had a perfect life. Money comes and goes. But what stayed was the love people shared.
"How much is there?" The amount of money Mr. Kim needed was huge. The need to save his company was clearly visible in his eyes. He was desperate. The company for which he worked day and night was going down the hill. Taehyung just looked at him. He sadly chuckled, internally. What would have happened if Mr. Kim had a percent of desperation of losing his wife, who was constantly waiting for his arrival? Who wanted nothing but to spend the last few days of her life with the love of her life.
The word love didn't have a meaning to Taehyung after his mother left him. Not until he met you. But sometimes somewhere he still felt insecure of you leaving him. Of course it wouldn't go away in just a few days. The hole in his heart was huge and it would take time to heal.
"All. All of the money that you sent me." Taehyung spoke. Mr. Kim looked at him, perplexed. Of course he did not know how Taehyung had been living till now. He didn't even know if Taehyung used the money in the right way or not. How hopeless of a father he was, who didn't even know about the son whom he thought to cherish his whole life when he was born.
