The two were now, after a few hours of chit-chat, sitting on the floor, resting against a random bookcase.
Both their eyes were urging to seal shut and reopen tomorrow, by the librarian waking them up and giving them a nice detention for staying in the library past curfew, but parts of them still wanted to keep company to eachother.
The two trios —after seven whole years— had decided to have a truce, and end this stupid enemy thing. Harry was weirdly keen to it, too."What time is it?" Asked Hermione, just so she could escape the thick tension between them. Failing.
A Tempus Charm was casted, and Pansy put her wand back into her pocket.
"It's 3:45 a.m. Planning on sleeping?"
The black haired girl turned towards her left, where the Griffindor was sitting.
Hermione seemed fairly attractive at the moment, strangely enough.
Her bushy hair was falling on her shoulders elegantly, her uniform always put together tidily, and her facial features —as always— pretty.
Her French nose was pointing slightly upwards, her eyes just just so slightly open, while her heart-shaped lips formed into a slight frown.
"Can I ask you something, Granger?"
"You know, you can call me Hermione."
The brunette turned to face her
locked-in-a-library-buddy, with a soft smile on her lips, making Pansy's Herat flutter."Oh, well, I'm sorry, Hermione."
Pansy gave an emfasis to the girl's name.
Hermione's smile only grew to the dramatic response.
"Well, what did you want to ask me?"
She continued.
"I umm, I wanted to ask you why you wanted to borrow that book earlier, you know, 'The Pecks of being a wallflower' ?"
Her eyebrows were raised, and she was now turned completely towards the other.
"Ah yes! That. My friend Alexis told me to read it, they said there was a movie based on the book in the Muggle world, with an actor named Emma Watson, that apparently, looks a lot like me." Chuckled Hermione,
"So, I wanted to check it out.""Oh, that sounds exciting."
Smiled Pansy, stunned by Hermione's laugh.
She has a bubbly laugh.
She thought.
"What about you? Why did you want that book?" Hermione reopened her eyes, locking glances with the Slytherin.
"Me? I wanted to read it so I can understand more about the Muggle world. You know, I have no Muggle friends, so I read some books about Muggle towns and literature."
She said with one breath, the eye contact between them having her on edge.
Pansy wasn't raised in a good place, her household was pretty much the same with Draco's. Any idea of homosexuality in the family would be burnt slowly and drastically. She had always thought that a boy kissing a boy, and a girl kissing a girl was a sin, that would never be forgiven by her family.
Her mother had threatened her.
When Pansy had asked her mother to cut her hair short, she had received a very negative ted-talk about the lgbtq+ community, and how she will turn into one of them with cutting it. Along with the Cruciatus Curse.
Her mother had also forced her to marry Draco, which would be very unpleasant for the both of them.
A lesbian and a gay guy, obsessed with the Saviour of the Wizarding World.
That just sounded funny.
Even if the two were friends, very close too, something like that would only draw them further apart.
But that couldn't happen. Pansy treasured Draco's and Blaise's friendship. They were smart, quiet —and very gay— people.
But right now, her mother was dead, she was an adult, her father was probably hiding away from the Aurors. So, she was basically, free, to do whatever the fuck she wanted.
And that something was making Hermione fall for her.
Rightfully.Hermione laughed loudly. Making it even worse for Pansy not to just grab and kiss her right then and there.
She didn't. She resisted the urge to do such idiocy, fearing the other girl's reaction.
They had called a truce only a few months ago, hung out a very few times.
"You know, you can ask me! I'm a Muggleborn!" She laughed still.
"Really?" Pansy's eyes shined with hope.
A hope for something different from just talking about the Muggle world.
What a shame. What a shame, that the two weren't friends before, what a shame that Pansy had not kissed her, because now, they would both be doomed for a good while.
"Of course!"
