Chapter 11 - You Ruined First Dates

"You what?!" Bella screamed in my air. I cringed before letting out a laugh. "I'm sorry, but repeat that. You made out in the fucking snow?!"

"Yeah." I mumbled, a blush rising in my cheeks as I remembered our kiss.

"Dude..." Bella let out a breath. "What does this mean?"

"I don't really know. He said he likes me, has for awhile. Of course I told him I like him too but we didn't really talk about next steps." I said, fiddling with my finger.

Bella snorted. "I don't think you guys were talking much at all."

I gasped and hit Bella's arm. "Not like that!"

"Oh really? One make out then done?" I bit my lip. "What I thought. But this is crazy. I'm really happy for you. You deserve every bit of this." 

"Thank you. But I feel bad. We keep talking about me."

"Maybe because you have all the interesting things going on in life."

I gave her a pointed look. "Not true. Isn't lacrosse going on for you?"

"And what's interesting about that?" She asked, but I could tell something was up.

"Okay spill what happened? Please let it be good."

"Nothing happened."

"You know I can tell when you lie right?"

"Fine. I got scouted."

"No." I whispered. "Are you serious?!"

"Yes, but calm down. I still have to decided if I want to do it or not."

"Why wouldn't you? You've been dying to play in college and get a scholarship."

"I know that. But there's still something else. It's in Boston." She said, hesitating.

"Bella..."

"I know I know. I shouldn't decide not to go to college because my best friend will be all the way in California. I know. My mom has made that clear. I just hate the thought of being across the fucking country from you. We've been friends ever since I punched Jack for pulling your braid in the first grade. I don't want to lose that."

"Who says we'll lose that? I may not be great at everything, and not the smartest. But I do know something." I grabbed her hands. "You and I? We're for life. Nothing will change that. Not college, not boys, not even family. You know why? Because you are my family. And family don't give up on each other even when they're thousands of miles apart."

Bella had tears in her eyes and squeezed my hands. "I really hate when you get all sappy like that. It's really hard to argue with you after that."

I laughed and hugged her. "Trust me. I know. That's why I do it." Bella hugged me back, letting loose her own laugh before pulling away. "So you going to accept?"

"Well..."

"Bella!"

"No, I'm kidding. There's other school. Still super far from here, but there are other places. I have to look at all my options."

"Okay, but as soon as you do, I get an answer. Got it?"

"Got it."

Bella and I were watching Twilight when my phone started ringing. I picked it up and saw Jay's name across the screen.

Bella looked over at me. "Who is it?"
