"I can't believe an entire five years went by and I missed so much of it with my own family. Didn't even get to see Aliby's or the Boys' first anything," dad said, lounging out in one of the couches. We were at my nana's and poppa's house New Years Eve morning.

"Dad you had a very good reason not to be here. It's fine," I said.

He shrugged. "I just feel really bad about it, you know?"

"Dad!" Jean shouted, dragging out the 'a' before she laid directly on top of him. "Hey," she laughed.

He chuckled and laid his head on the pillow. She dropped her head on his chest and sighed.

"Hey Jean, good day at work?"

"Very good. I even got off early," she responded, nuzzling her head into his chest. It's kind of hard to believe she's older than me. "I also have some good news."

"What's that?"

"Christen asked me to move in with her!" She said, a smile stretched across her face.

"Really now?" Dad said, shooting a knowing smile to Christen who sat in the chair across from me.

"Did you already know?"

"Duh," he said, rolling his bright green eyes, "I know everything."

"Ugh," she groaned, dropping her head in his chest. "I'm going to sleep."

"On top of me?"

"Yep," she mumbled, snuggling her head further into him. He just rubbed her back gently.

"Dad," I said, grasping his attention, "when are you leaving for Washington?"

"You mean 'we?' The sixteenth of January."

I widened my eyes. "You're taking all of us?"

"Of course," he laughed, "you're my child, aren't you?"

"Daddy!" Three voices chanted as they charged through the house.

Flynn smiled, "tag?"

"I'm a little too old for running, bud-"

"Please daddy?"

He immediately gave up. "Okay, but you gotta get Jean to move and -"

They could care less about what else dad had to say as the pulled Jean by her clothes onto the floor.

"Ow!" She yelled, rubbing her head. "Losers!"

"Shut up!" Flynn yelled.

"Hey, none of that," dad said. "Now help your sister up and apologise."

They sighed and Fisher pulled Jean's hand. "Sorry J."

"S'okay, but I gotta tell you something," she said smiling.

"What," he said.

"Dad's it!" She yelled, tapping dads arm and running about the living room. The boys scrambled apart and dad sighed and started walking in the direction Flynn had went.

*time jump*

I frowned when I got off the plane. Is there bloody snow everywhere?

"Oh lovely District of Columbia," dad said, mum holding onto his arm as they stepped out the plane and down the steps.
