Fading Flowers

Nightmare was curled up in his bed, tears going down his face and landing on his arms, blankets, and pillow. The tears were mixed with his goo making his goo every well liquidy.
It had been around a month or two since they left and he had began coughing up petals which had became more painful recently. He had began keeping around a bucket for when he coughs put more.

He sat up wiping away his tears. He should distract himself instead of sitting around being pathetic. Perhaps destroying most of an au to create negativity? He thought of an au to terrorize..... sciencetale sounded nice. He quickly opened a portal falling onto the nice cold snow of sciencetale, looking around at the many buildings and a lab they kept in snowdiin. He soon began his terror.
Starting with setting buildings on fire, ah yes good ol arson.

Flames licked up each tree and houses, lighting up the scenery and alerting the monsters. They ran out of their houses screaming only to be grabbed by tentacles and hurt. Soon sci ran out to help attack nightmare. Dream was there also attacking nightmare. It was a normal battle until nightmare paused allowing himself to get hit with attacks which confused Dream but suddenly...

Nightmare started coughing HARD. He fell to his knees coughing, cause it was so bad. Worrying dream and sci who ran over to nightmare to check on him but his tendrils lashes out at them.
He couldn't breathe. He looked at the blood in his hands, a whole flower and more coming up his throat....
He couldn't breathe.
It was getting harder to make the two go away.
He couldn't breathe... everything was going dark.
Nightmare blacked out.

Killer teleported to the castle when he got the call along with the other members of the gang. "I heard there was an emergency!-" he didn't expect to be greeted by dream and Sci. Sci cleared his throat and began to speak "now that all of you are here.... There is a problem with Nightmare" they looked at sci. Some of them not caring and the rest being concerned "He has hanahaki disease" they all looked confused. "What's that?" Horror asked.

Dream sighed as he was given the 'microphone' "hanahaki disease is a disease where...when your in love with someone...and they can't return the feelings you cough out flowers or petals until you either suffocate to death....the person returns the feelings or...you get surgery..."
Dust blurted out "how did you find out?"
Sci started speaking again "while terrorizing my au... He had a coughing fit and coughed out some flowers before passing out.... We were able to clear his throat so he could properly breathe but our best bet to find out who he even likes is from one of you or it is one of you." They all stayed quiet thinking...what if one of them IS the loved one unable to return the feelings...even if they tried they wouldn't be able to and they know it...... but they don't want their ex boss being numb or worse.
