The roads seemed rough and uneven, nothing like the roads in her hometown, Alas Andrea dealt with the soft tosses while she quietly read a book to her younger sisters. This was the longest trip any of them had been on, so she tried her best to entertain the silly kids.
She wasn't particularly thrilled about this move, but she knew it was for the best... A sudden voice startled Andrea from her thoughts, "Almost there mija." Her father gently reached back from the front of the wagon to pat her back. He was quite thankful she was there to entertain her younger sisters. Better than the sleeping boys who haven't lifted a finger in helping. After another hour of bumpy roads and silly children's stories they finally made it to what her father describes as 'The safest place on earth'. Her eyes lit up as they passed through town, all the lights and colors were so much to take in. This would be her new home for now on and she loved it! The smell of food and the sound of children playing made her excitement rise.
Her father carefully stopped near a decently sized home, ushering his kids out of the wagon for the first time in a few days.
The girls immediately took Andrea's hand and dragged her to what seemed like a market. She could only stare wide eyed at the beautiful people who conversated and shopped, "Come on Andrea! Vamos!" the young girls tugged her sister towards the sound of music. Far too excited to help her father unpack.
"¡Dios mío!" Andrea watched as people danced across the plaza, her mind raced as she began to dance herself. Spinning and twisting, feeling the wonderful rhythm she missed so much.Memories of her and her mom dancing was what made her enjoy it so much, the warmth she felt to just simply have fun kept her going. Which caught a certain Madrigal boy's attention, his eyes locked onto the young girl as she glided across the ground. Her beauty almost knocked him off his feet, she seemed so happy and her smile.. He was in awe. He fixed his yellows ruana making himself presentable.
Without much hesitation he approached her, clearing his throat before offering his hand. "Could I have this dance, Hermosa?" Andrea quickly turned to meet his gaze; those beautiful hazel eyes almost made her freeze "Erm- Uh sure.." She gently took his hand, a bit nervous to dance with a complete stranger she just met but she let him spin her across the plaza with ease. He wasn't a bad dancer either! He actually kept up well which surprised the young girl. His intense gaze made Andrea flustered, the intense heat traveled up her neck.
After a while they finally returned to the side of the plaza, where the twins greeted them with excitement. "Wow! You guys looked so cool!" The young girl stared at the stranger with curiosity, he gave her a small pat before opening his mouth. "Couldn't resist such a beautiful lady." This seemed to make Veronica giggle then giving Andrea a small smirk. "Uh we should get going girls! We have so much to unpack.. Thank you guapo." A small smirk appeared on the boy's lips before he waved them off politely.
Andrea was flushed, her face so scarlet she looked sick.. "Not even here a day and we've already gotten a lot of attention." She gently pushed her sisters into their new house, excited to choose her room and unpack. This place was so new to her! Nothing like the states where she grew up. Her father being born here and her mother being from America, she visited for a small holiday and feel head over heels for her papa.
It saddened her to think of her mamá... it had only been 2 months since the accident. Andrea shook her head quickly trying to stay positive! Without a word she grabbed her few boxes and chose a room towards the back of the house, quiet and away from everyone like she needed. The room had a set of glass doors that led to the back yard, like her own secret entrance (Soon someone else's if you get what I'm sayin B) ) .Once the unpacking was finished Andrea flopped onto her bed, enjoying the smell of clean sheet on a comfy bed. She noted the rose scent that almost lured her into a nap. Thankfully her papá's voice tugged her back to reality. She slid out of her room to meet her father gaze, he seemed oddly joyful... "We've been invited to a celebration! So go get ready mi amor!" She hadn't been to a party in years, it felt refreshing to dress up again and get dolled up for something! But that excitement soon disappeared when she was puzzled on what to wear... Something red? Blue? Maybe pink? She soon decided on something yellow, a simple white top with puffy sleeves and a yellow fluffy skirt. Flexible enough for dancing yet still covers her so her papá doesn't flip his lid.
