You should not tell your friend
You think she's a dumb ass sometimes
You definitely should not tell me
That you love me if you don't really

Truth hurts, I guess

You shouldn't ask out your family,
Second cousins my ass
You shouldn't ask for a spare dollar
From beggars on the street
You shouldn't ask to come into my room
After a Jr high first date

Too many years
Unexperienced in this world
Too much self respect
In this one little girl

You shouldn't try vodka shots
for the first time
When your the designated driver
You shouldn't try to pass a drivers test
Until you sober up
and the hangovers gone
You shouldn't try to get me
to go with you at a party
after I've told you we were done
a week ago

But you tried anyway
and pulled me back in to your arms
Just to let me fall for you again

"You shouldn't do drugs
Dogs are much better" but
You shouldn't listen to your parents
Your "cool boyfriend" is much smarter
You shouldn't stumble home
With red eyes and slurred words

But it wasn't much better to stubble
into your bedroom
