Thud.

Ouch. What just happened? I looked around me. I was in a corn field, laying on my back. Above me, something silver....I blinked and it was gone. Where was I?

More importantly, who am I? I tried to think what I may have been called.

Virtually I had no memory at all, just these past seconds. I stood up, slowly. My back was sore. My whole body was sore. Why?

I saw lights in the distance. Lights...

Metal. The cold harshness of it pressing into my back. Straps holding me down. Lights, blinding me. I couldn't see. Wait, there was a shadow approaching. It seemed green. I heard a low humming noise as the figure advanced on me. I screamed as I saw the scaley face.

I shook my head. What was that? A flashback, maybe? Where was I again? Oh, right. I looked towards the lights. Lights meant... what did they mean? Life? Terror?

Knowing nothing else to do, I advanced towards the small balls of light in the distance. I stumbled quite a few times. When was the last time I had walked? Days, years, even? Also, how old was I? I stopped to rest and examined myself. My skin was a pale ivory color. My hair.... it looked yellow. Yellow was the color of the sun.  What was the word for it? Bline....no. Bl....Blane? Blonde. Yes. that was it. I touched my face, felt my nose, my mouth, and my eyes. Do eyes have colors? I think so.... Blue.

Blue? Blue... my eyes! My eyes were blue. Blue is the color of the sky.

I slowly tried to regain what little knowledge I knew.

Orange was the color of a fire. A fire brought heat, warmth. If you got too close you would burn.

Green was the color of the grass. Grass was a plant, eaten by some animals. Animals where living creatures, designed for different uses.

My brain started to hurt. I stopped thinking and looked up.Over the horizon was an orange, yellowish ball peeking at me.

It was the sun. The sun meant... daylight. A few hours ago, it was dark. There were white dots in the sky, and one big one. Stars and the moon. Night time.

It was dark and damp. A small plate, containing some blob of what they thought was food, lied in front of me. It was moving. They? As in the green figures. Why me? I leaned against the wet wall and cried.

I stood up. I no longer saw balls of light in the distance. I saw tall structures. They were a little smaller than a pencil. Pencils. You wrote with them.

I headed towards them, tripping over the small balls of earth. They were called rocks.

As I moved closer to the tall pencils, they grew. Along with them, the sun rose in the sky. Sometimes it would disappear, and I would wonder where it went. When I looked up, a white blob was covering it. Clouds.

Time passed and eventually I made it to the pencils. No, they were buildings. But why call them buildings if they were already built?

They loomed over me, tall and mighty. I could hear the strangest noises. It sounded like a million engines, moving in different speeds.

The engines smoked and sputtered.

"Ekk ilo klackk!", the creatures yelled. They moved lightning fast, trying to control the violent swerving of the vehicle. All I could do was watch as we plummeted to the ground. At the last second, we were safe. They carried me away, back to the smelly cave.

I stepped onto the black concrete that led in every direction. I think it was called a road, I walked along it, following the yellow stripes. Soon, I heard the engines come closer. I glanced behind me. A roaring creaturre was coming after me, fast. I screamed and ran. The creature didn't stop and it trotted alongside me and I kept following the yellow lines.

"Hey! what are you doing in the middle of the street?", the creature yelled. I looked at it and inside the creature was another creature! It was being eaten whole! I gaped at it.

"Earth to girl!", it said in it's foreign language.

Girl... was that what I was? A girl?

The creature got bored and ran away on the road.

Finally.

I continued to follow the lines,  wondering where they would lead me.  They twisted and turned in every direction. When I heard a creature coming, I would hide and wait for it to pass.

The lines led me to a herd of the creatures. Some waited while the others ran in front of them. I tiptoed through them, hoping they would not notice me.

Some of the creatures let out a horrible noise. it sounded like 'beep beep'.

Beep. Beep. Beep. I opened my eyes to the steady rhythm. The lights where shining on me and I blinked, trying to hold on to some of the darkness.

I ran across the herd, not caring if they saw me. But I looked over and one was coming after me. It hit me and I was propelled into the air. I landed with a loud thunk and everything went black.
