Episode 9: Panda!

Hello everyone and welcome to the 9th Episode of Ask or Dare: Cartoon and Anime All-Stars Friend Logs! Today's episode is all about Panda!

Origins

Panda made her debut in Tekken 3, which first released on the PS1 on April 25, 1998. Obviously she hails from China and her fighting style is Heihachi-style Improved Kuma Shinken. In most of the games, she's a palette swap for Kuma, who simps for her.

General Background and Personality

Panda is the loyal bodyguard, best friend and pet of Ling Xiaoyu. Panda was given to Xiaoyu by Heihachi Mishima himself as a sign of good will. Unlike other pandas, Panda has human-like empathy and thought process, and is probably the FASTEST panda in the world, hence why Panda is Xiao's main method of transportation.

Story in Tekken 3

There isn't really anything new to talk about her story, so let's just move on to her ending. As she and Xiaoyu leave the Mishima Polytechnical School, Kuma is waiting outside the gate, ready to confess his love to Panda. But of course, she either didn't notice or deliberately ignored him.

Story in Tekken 4

After the last Tournament, Panda returned with Xiaoyu to the Mishima Polytechnical School and spent their days training. 2 years later, Xiaoyu mentioned the announcement King of Iron Fist Tournament 4, and Panda had realized her owner's concerns about the Tournament and the Mishima Zaibatsu. And so, Panda accompanied Xiaoyu as her bodyguard. In her ending, Panda brung Xiaoyu to the arena, as she wants to help her owner find the love of her life, Jin Kazama. But Xiaoyu wants to do it on her own to keep Panda from being an endangered species.

Story in Tekken 5

After the 4th Tournament, Xiaoyu had become depressed, and Panda had thought of ways to make her happy again. Her 1st idea was to find Jin, but it led to no avail. However, Xiaoyu got excited as she told Panda she was entering the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5, and needed her help. She didn't know Xiaoyu's reasons, but reluctantly helped to make her happy. In her ending, PANDA becomes the new CEO of the Mishima Zaibatsu, and when Kuma proceeds to hug her, Panda pushes the big red button and sends Kuma plummeting down. Not soon after, Xiaoyu arrives happy to see her. As she approaches the desk, Xiaoyu notices a blue button and presses it out of curiosity despite Panda's warning, sending the Chinese bear plummeting down, leaving Xiaoyu questioning what happened to Panda. Oh, and Lee shows up as well.

Story in Tekken 6

After entering the 5th tournament with Xiaoyu, the 2 return home, now relieved that Heihachi was still alive, but it was quickly ruined when the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 was announced. And so, Panda wastes no time to enter the tournament. In her ending, possibly linked to Asuka and Lili's ending, as the 2 girls are fighting, Xiaoyu rides on Panda, who's running at SUPERSPEED cuz Xiaoyu couldn't bother to get to school on time, and Panda CRASHES into both the girls AND Lili's limo and sends the car FLYING. Asuka and Lili then get angry and chase after the two, panicking Xiaoyu.

Story in Tekken 7

Panda had grown worried about Xiaoyu when she left to search for her man. She then decided that the recently announced King of Iron Fist Tournament 7 was the best place to search, and decided to enter. Unfortunately, Panda doesn't find her, but he does find a man with bizarre hair and a boorish attitude, AKA Paul Phoenix. Already mad about Xiaoyu's absence, Panda's fury reaches tenfold and prepares for battle. After beating Paul, Panda celebrates her victory until one of her bracelets falls off. After remembering about finding Xiaoyu and smelling her scent, Panda races after it while running Paul over. Poor guy...

Contributions to the Series

We first met Panda when she saved Xiaoyu from Claudio. How she was able to find us from afar is beyond us, but we were happy she helped nonetheless. Along with Xiaoyu, Panda is usually crashing into places at the most convenient times.

Relationships with Other Characters

Ling Xiaoyu: Self-explanatory.

Alisa Bosconovitch and Jin Kazama: Other friends of Panda.

Paul Phoenix: Panda's opponent in Tekken 7. She still doesn't like him.
