Episode 18: Josie Rizal!

"I'm getting nervous..."

Hello everyone and welcome to the 18th episode of Ask or Dare: Cartoon & Anime All-Stars Friend Logs! Today's episode is all about the Filipino crybaby, Josie Rizal.

Origins

Josie is yet another side character who made her debut in Tekken 7. She hails from the Philippines and fights with Eskrima, a fighting style used in the Philippines, combined with kickboxing and Muay Thai. She's voiced by Ananda Jacobs.

Personality

Josie is a very sensitive young girl, as she was always easily frightened at a young age. But she's also cheerful and has a kind heart who wishes to help those she cares about above all else.

General Background and Story

Ever since her young age, Josie had always been known for being sensitive. Her parents were big fans of martial arts, and thought that if they got their beloved daughter to get in on the action, it would make her into a more confident person. While she was reluctant at first, Josie managed to live up to her family's expectations and became a kickboxing pro. But while it made her into more of a confident fighter, her sensitivity remained the same. Outside of fighting, Josie has also maintained a successful modeling career, which is how she was able to support her family for so long and explains her attractive physique. One day, an intense typhoon hit the Philippines, causing DEVASTATING damage. Luckily, the Filipinos were saved by the Tekken Force's relief efforts as they gained their trust as soon as they arrived. With several youths now jobless, they come forward wanting to join the Tekken Force. They then decided to establish a recruitment test deep in the jungle. The final test would be a fight against none other than Kuma, Heihachi's trained fighting bear. It was at this point where 99% of the youths failed the test, whether to them being too afraid to fight or losing to Kuma. At that point, there was only one person left. Josie, who at the very sight of Kuma bursted into tears. While feeling bad about scaring her, Kuma still attacked to complete his task. Josie was beaten and rendered unconscious by her furry foe. But after being impressed by her fighting prowess, Kuma decides to let her join the Tekken Force. However, due to her fear of bears, upon awakening, after screaming, backing away in fear, and being roared at, Josie faints... Upon seeing this, Kuma decides that she isn't cut out for the Tekken Force and leaves.

Contributions to the Series

The cast 1st met Josie as one of the recruits when they arrive at Violet Systems HQ. Lars, Alisa & Lee traveled to the Philippines in search of possible recruits, and wouldn't you know, during their search, Alisa started hearing a certain someone crying in the distance and go to investigate, that individual being Josie. Now sad that she would never be able to join the Tekken Force, upon meeting the main Yggdrasil squad, and learning about their goal, Josie begged to join, wanting to help. Lars was originally against having her join due to her... y'know... not acting or looking like a fighter, but Josie, insisting to join, confidently challenges him to a battle to show that she's good enough to join the battle. Seeing just how much of an asset she could be, the crew welcomed her to the squad. After the war against the Mishimas, we haven't spent too much time with Josie. We should invite her next time we plan on doing something fun. Last we've heard about her was when Brando apparently hooked her into his harem...

Relationships with Other Characters

Kuma: Josie's enemy. She hates bears.

Xiaoyu & Alisa: Sometime after the Mishima war, Xiaoyu invited Josie to hang out with her to try and befriend her, which worked.
