The sound of roaring grew louder as I walked further and further into the forest until I entered an opening. The sight before me took my breath away. There, in the middle of the clearing, was a red dragon.

It had to be at least 5 times my height. I slowly made my way towards it as quietly as I could. However my clumsy ass accidentally stepped on a twig making it snap. The sound echoed through out  the clearing. I looked up from my foot and saw the dragon Growling at me but it didn't move from its spot. While I was transfixed by the dragon in front of me, Ryoko decided to wiggle her way out of my bag and waddle over to the much bigger dragon. I didn't notice she was gone until I saw her little body getting further from me.
"Ryoko! Get back here!" I called to the dragonette.
All she did was stop and look at me before she continued to waddle towards the dragon. I swore under my breath before running after her and scooping her up in my arms. I felt the hot breath of it before I saw its face. I fell backwards with a squeal holding Ryoko to my chest. I was panting heavily as I looked into its red eyes flecked with gold. I was scared at first but the longer I looked in its eyes the more I realized that it was scared too. I slowly moved to stand up pausing every so often to make sure I didn't make a wrong move. Ryoko hopped out of my arms again but this time I let her go. She bounded over to the dragons hind legs and let out a little itty bitty baby roar. I made my way over to where she was and knelt down to look at what was the matter. While trying to see what was wrong I noticed that there was a red that didn't match the colour of  it's scales. I gently put my hand on it regretting my actions as soon as the dragon let out a pained roar.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you" I said in dragontongue.
The dragon calmed at my words and I kept talking to it while I cleaned up it's wound and wrapped it in one of my extra shirts not having enough bandages to cover it's wound and go around it's leg. When I was done I went back to the front of the dragon and held my hand out. It put it's snout against my hand and I started petting it. I sat down on a rock, the dragon laying as much of its head on my lap as it could while Ryoko crawled onto my shoulder. I kept petting the dragons snout watching it slowly fade into sleep. I felt Ryoko fall asleep as well so I decided to go to sleep myself.
