"Remember these?"
Days have passed since that night, and Yoongi still cannot forget about the memory that woke him with cold sweat lingering on his skin and covering him. It was more than just remembering a memory because he felt genuine fear and pity for himself because of what happened and what they said to him. The memory itself was more of a nightmare, and he wishes that he does not remember any of his memories if only the bad ones were returning.
What good are the memories if they just hurt you either way?
Yoongi started to avoid the members after remembering a fair amount of his memories. He now knows that something happened between him and the rest of the group, but his members have stayed silent, and he needs to know why. Until now, there are only bits and pieces of memories resurfacing in his mind that are not enough proof that something happened before his accident.
He is determined to find out the truth.
"We didn't tell you because we know you wouldn't understand."
The memory caused him to feel pain and betrayal, knowing that something happened between him and the other members. But what could have pushed him towards the edge just to leave the dorm and disappear without saying anything? What was he planning when getting on that car? Why are the six men acting so different now compared to what his memories have been telling him about the men that were supposed to be his family?
He needed more clues, and the only way to do that was to remember more of his memories.
"Yoongi Hyung!" It was Taehyung's voice that brought Yoongi out of his thoughts.
Yoongi raises his head and turns his gaze towards the younger, wearing a frown on his face. He feels guilty for ignoring Taehyung like that when he was trying his best to accompany him even at the lowest of times. The younger had brought out a photo album from under the coffee table that Namjoon had bought from a famous carpenter a couple of years ago. For the past hour, they have been looking through each and every single picture, with Taehyung explaining where the photo was taken and the story that comes along with it.
Looking through photos is a very simple yet wonderful way to help shake Yoongi's head a little bit for those lost memories deep inside his mind. Yoongi is trying his best,
"Ah, sorry, I was just thinking of something," Yoongi apologizes, placing his fingers on the pages of the book. His situation right now may be questionable, but it does not take away the fact that seeing all of these pictures made him smile. It makes him feel glad to know that although he cannot remember his life, there is proof that, at the very least, he was happy. "We've come so far, no? Looking at these pictures, I can't help but feel like this Yoongi is someone else."
Taehyung stares at his older member with a sad look on his face, listening to Yoongi's every word. He cannot help but feel sad for his Hyung, to wake up from a long and deep sleep only to realize that he has lost everything of the life that he has lived.
"It's not your fault, Hyung," He tells Yoongi with a comforting smile on his face. "You still have us and our fans to remind you a part of yourself. It will take some time, but you'll get there, and to make you feel better, we'll always be right next to you at every step of the way."
Yoongi smiles, leaning against the younger's touch as they continue to flip through the pages silently. The other members are out doing their own things, and Taehyung is left to accompany Yoongi for the day since he was the only one who did not have to do anything. Sure, Yoongi can take care of himself, but it would be selfish of them to leave him alone and make him feel lonely and isolated.
The silence is good and pleasant. It makes Yoongi feel relaxed and free with not a single noise or voice swimming in his head.
Just as Taehyung is about to talk about another photo, Yoongi's focus stops on another picture just on the bottom of the page. His mind immediately drowns out the younger's voice as his eyes only zoom in on the picture with his band members smiling, and it looks like they are having fun with whatever they are doing, and wherever they were at the time, this picture was taken. Sure, not every single picture has him in it, but something in this photo was drawing him in.
"Hyung?" He hears Taehyung calling for him, but his voice is muffled.
His finger lightly taps on the photo before the same familiar feeling he has been getting these past weeks returns. A memory is suddenly waking up from its grave to haunt Yoongi once more.
"Yoongi Hyung?!"
Tears begin to form as Yoongi's eyesight starts to become blurry. Why is he tearing up at the sight of this seemingly ordinary photo? There was nothing to cry about, and yet here he was, bawling his eyes out because of a picture he did not even know existed until now.
Yoongi feels his body being grabbed and shaken by someone as everything starts to slow down just like the way it has always been when he remembers a memory. His mind is hazy, and he is confused with everything in his life and everyone around him. He feels more people have arrived on the scene but does not have the energy to turn around and look. It was as if he was reliving the same day of the memory inside his head, but he also knows that all of these people moving around him are here at this moment.
With time passing so slowly, Yoongi questions himself once again, which one is the truth and which is the lie?
All of these memories that are coming back to him have the same theme, and Yoongi now has a theory that all of these memories might be connected to one another and not just random moments in his life. But knowing this, he cannot help but feel pain in his heart, feeling pity for himself for everything that happened in his memories. He knew there was more to just the kindness that is being given to him, and he now has an idea why that is, but there was no way that he would say them out loud for everyone to hear.
"Taehyung! Why are you showing him that?!"
"I didn't! I swear!"
"Why is Hyung looking at it then?"
"Didn't I tell you guys to take that out of the photobook?"
"I thought they did!"
"Will everyone just shut up!" The loudest voice of all was Namjoon's. Yoongi immediately knew that it was him who sat down right next to him, helping him breathe and placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. He sees the younger man turned his attention towards him after yelling out loud, and his face quickly changes into a concerned expression. "Hyung, breathe for me, can you do that? Does anything else hurt? Do we need to take you to the hospital?"
Yoongi took all of his remaining energy to shake his head even though his head was hurting like a thousand bricks were being thrown at him. He does not want to be taken back to the hospital more than he should have, but he also does not have the courage to tell his band members that he is in pain because of all the memories coming back to him.
Memories he wishes he just forgets all together.
"Are you sure?" It was the oldest who asked him this time. "We can go start the car right now if you want us to."
"I'm okay," Yoongi croaks after taking a deep breath and staring back at his band members through teary eyes. "There's no need. I'll be fine."
While everyone gathered around Yoongi for the next half an hour just to make sure that the pain subsides and that he did not need to be taken to the hospital, Yoongi noticed the way the youngest took the photo from the book and hid it away in his pocket before closing the pages and placing it back under the coffee table.
Jungkook met Yoongi's eyes and was only greeted with his infamous doe eyes, but Yoongi knew the truth. Behind those innocent and adorable gazes were something carnal. It was as if something was being kept hidden from him.
They are hiding something. A secret Yoongi intends to find out no matter what it takes.
