Why not me 

                You and Camilo had been dating for a few months, but recently he's noticed that you've been looking at your mutual friend Sebastían and Camilo's getting quite jealous. The most recent encounter was in town when he saw you buying fruits and things from Sebastían's family shop and he was getting too touchy with you, but you didn't seem to mind it, at least from what Camilo saw. To see if his hunch was true, he devised a little plan. He was going to tell you that he was going out on an errand, and while he's "out" he will shape-shift into Sebastían. The family was preparing for a village gathering, hence the abundance of errands. You wanted to buy a gift for Antonio so you went out to town. Once Camilo found out, he immediately went out to find you. Eventually he spotted you at a stuffed animal shop. 

"Hola, mi vida!" Camilo greeted as he came beside you and grabbed your hand, kissing it gently 

You smiled, "hola, Camilo," you reply as you look up at the display of stuffed animals, "which one do you think Antonio would like? I was thinking the capybara but I wasn't sure."  You tell him with a soft chuckle

"The toucan, definitely." 

"Alright," you nod, "the toucan it is." You reach in your pocket for your money and hand it to the vender. He wraps up the toucan in a pretty gift bag and hands it to you with a smile. You smile back and start walking back to casita. 

Camilo realizes that this is his chance, "I have to do some other errands, mi amor, I'm sorry." he tells you and kisses your cheek. 

"Oh, can I come with you?" You ask with a soft smile

He shook his head, "you're needed back there. I'll see you at casita," he smiled at you and let go of your hand so he could walk away. 

You hold the gift in your hands, unbeknownst to you that Camilo is carrying out a plan. You hummed and looked around at the beautiful flowers surrounding the village, courtesy of Isabella. Camilo ran behind the shops and shape shifted on the way.  He came out from between two shops as the lovely Sebastían.

"Hola, Señorita!" He called out 

You smiled brightly, "hola, Señor. How are you this fine afternoon?" You asked.

"Never better," he walked beside you and wrapped his arm around your shoulders, "So, do the Madrigals still have your running errands for the village gathering?" He chuckled

"Yes," you respond, laughing softly, "this is an errand of my own, though. I wanted to get Antonio  a gift." You explain as you two walk, "you know, you really shouldn't have your arm around me. Camilo could get jealous," you told him

"Aw, man! Camilo's always ruining our fun." He pouted

"He's not ruining our fun! I'm just warning you." You chuckled

"Querido, I laugh at danger. I eat danger for breakfast." He chuckled 

"That's cute," you shake your head, "well I'll see you at the gathering." You smiled up at him 

"Adios, Querido," he laughed as he waved and walked  the other way.

You waved  back and kept walking to casita. Once you got there, you run up to Camilo's room to hide the gift. You helped around the house as much as you could, waiting for Camilo to come back

Camilo felt betrayed. He was proven right, you really did have feelings for Sebastían. He walked behind a shop and shape shifted back into himself. He walked to the lake, sighing heavily. He sat down on the grass and looked out onto the clear blue water. He had such a hard time processing these emotions, but eventually he just broke and he burst into tears.

Hours later you started getting worried about Camilo. 'He should be home' you thought. So you decided to look for him. You put your shoes on, grabbed your bag with Tia Julietta's arepas and walked around the village, earnestly looking for your boyfriend. Then, you heard a sniffle coming from the hill by the lake. You start walking down the hill to him. 

"Amor?" You say as you sit by him, "mi Vida what's wrong?" You push his curly hair behind his ear and cup his cheek. 

"Shouldn't you be hanging out with Sebastían right now?" He turned his face away from you bitterly 

"What? What do you mean Camilo?" You furrow your brows, you were genuinely confused. 

"I know how you feel about him, y/n." He spat out as he stood up

"Camilo I don't understand. I don't feel about him any way?" You stand up to face him 

"Oh I know that you don't mind his arm being around you! I know that you don't mind him calling you pet names!" He starts crying again, "I trusted you, y/n! Why would you lie to me like this!?" He wiped his tears 

You tear up, "how do you know about all of that?" 

"Because it was me!!" He cried, "I wanted to know if you liked him and obviously you do! Why would you do this!?" 

"Because I didn't think you cared about what happened to me then much!" 

"HOW COULD TOU NOT KNOW, I LOVED YOU SINCE THE FIRST DAY I MET YOU!"  He sobbed

You take him by the shoulders and pull him into a tight hug, "I'm so sorry Camilo. If I knew how you felt about that, I wouldn't have let him," you kissed his cheek and rubbed his back 

He clung to you and cried into your shoulder, "lo siento," he whimpered, "lo siento mi amor." 

You pulled back slightly, "I'm sorry too Camilo," you kissed his forehead, "wanna stay here for a while? I brought some of Tia's arepas if you're hungry," you told him as you pushed his hair out of his face. 

He nodded and sat back down on the grass. You sit next to him and give him an arepa. He wraps his arm around your waist securely and kisses your temple, "I love you so much," he whispered to you, still trying to wipe his tears away completely 

"I love you too Camilo," you whisper to him and peck his lips.
