The sounds of the city echo through the small alleyway. Cars honk, the sound of a light rain hitting the cement calms small children as the sleep I nearby apartments. A car drives by, splashing water into the alley.
A sickly looking cat stumbles into the alley, soaked in water and city grime. It's on the verge of death; clearly malnourished and full of diseases. It begins to wheeze as it crawls over to a vent lowering itself to the ground.
The wheezing begins to subside, the cat's breathing slowing. It's head lowers, and as the cat dies, a clump of gooey mush detaches itself from it's limp body. It attaches itself to the ground, searching for something to attach itself onto. Finding nothing, it begins to crawl up the alley, locating the vent.
Due to it's malleable figure, it pushes easily through the vent, and dissappears into the brick building.
The rain continues to pour, the cars continue to honk. The children sleep, but somewhere off in the distance, a dog barks, and a man screams.
