Eddie doesn't understand how important it is that I make sure I'm the only one. Perhaps his tiny, human brain is incapable of comprehending the true danger of my kind.

I don't get it. We've found and rid the city of all of them. What more is there to do? Eddie questions. What an absolute fool.

"Eddie... it is not so easy to tell where they are hiding when they have found a suitable host. It is much easier to catch them when they must switch hosts constantly," I growl, grabbing a handful of Hershey Kisses from a bowl on our counter.

But what can we do now? We can't just crawl around on rooftops, slinking along in alleys trying to find more symbiotes. We have a job, Venom, as this cities... Lethal Protector... Eddie argues.

I practically purr in gratitude. I like when Eddie calls us that. It is a very badass name. I cannot argue with him. We are a hero to this crime-ridden world. Or a fugitive of the law. But mostly, a hero.

"That is very true, Eddie, however the thing that would keep these innocent citizens the safest would be to eliminate the most imminent threat to their livelihoods."

I stare out at the city I now call home, after we fled San Fransisco due to our recent... mishaps with the SFPD... it's not so bad, but it is a very different place.

No matter the setting, I have seen many a cities over a vast expanse of worlds, in thousands of galaxies across the multiverse. Never have I cared for the inhabitants of these planets more than I do for this Earth.

Perhaps it is because of Eddie that I chose to care. It is because of him that I stayed, I admit.

Sometimes his stupidity... it fascinates me.

Eddie remains nonchalant as I continue to leap from rooftop to rooftop, scouring the city as I trek, however I am still tense, worried that I'm missing a very vital piece of information.

The scene from last night keeps playing in my mind... that girl smelled nice. I wanted to eat her. Eddie said that she was pretty, and yet again scolded me for wanting to do such a "cruel, awful thing to the people we vowed to protect".

I'm more worried about the klyntar that I disposed of that night. It was a very powerful symbiote; much more so than the few meek, stringy ones I had been hunting down that day.

Perhaps licking that girl wasn't the best idea... she did, however, taste nice.

I'm sprinting. I'm not sure why, and I'm not sure to where. I have no idea how long I've been in these woods for, just that the further from civilization I get, the safer everyone will be. Or, if I keep going further, does that mean I'll continue to get closer to the end of the wood, and am therefore getting closer to civilization again?

The thought makes me stop, and I drop to my knees, my heart pounding and my temples throbbing, though I'm not tired. Not even out of breath, though I may have been sprinting for the past half hour straight without any breaks or deceleration. If anything I was constantly increasing my speed.
