Chapter 5

(Landon's POV)

When I was in the kitchen during the late hours tonight, I heard a voice come from behind me "Oh hey Landon didn't expect to see you here this late." I turned around and it was Hope. "Where have you been?" I said slightly annoyed. "Well other than Penelope almost drowning me yesterday and then I left to go to Dr.Saltzman's cabin then the whole fiasco you saw that's about it. But why do you sound annoyed?" "It feels like you're ignoring me, and I don't why you can't let things go with Josie." "Landon what do you mean? Let go? And I haven't been ignoring you I've just been taking some me time and you haven't texted me or asked me to do anything so how is this my fault?" "You never answer your phone so what am I supposed to do. Where did you go after you took Josie in your room? Were you there the whole night together?" I started to get more aggressive towards Hope getting annoyed more and more as the conversations went on. "Yes, Landon she needed a friend so of course I let her stay over. You know how Lizzie gets." She seemed shocked by behavior, but I should be allowed to be this way. She's blowing me off all the time and I'm her boyfriend I should be her top priority not Josie. "Stop lying to me Hope. Maybe Penelope is right." I grabbed hold of her arm firmly but just a moment later Josie came around the corner then did a spell and flew me into the wall. "Josie?!" Hope yelled at her. "Of course, Josie is there again. Anywhere you go she is too." I got back up from the ground looking at Josie and Hope both with an annoyed and aggressive look. Hope looked at me then at Josie and didn't say anything. I'm her boyfriend and she couldn't even defend me when her friend just threw me into a wall. "So, what you can't say anything. I guess I'll just see you at your birthday party, I'm not totally sure why I'm even going at this point." After I said that I left not wanting to waste any more energy on Hope or Josie but mark my words she will learn her lesson.

(Josie's POV)

After Landon left, Hope didn't say anything and was avoiding eye contact with me which hurt because I just wanted to look after her and make sure she's safe. But there was a tense feeling in the room from the silence. "Hey, don't let him get to you ok, he doesn't deserve you." I walked over to Hope and wrapped an arm around her. After I put my arm around her, I could tell she felt a little better. "I'm ok Jo really. It was just a little argument nothing to worry about." I couldn't look at Hope like this and think this was just a little argument. "Let's just get you back to bed, ok?" "Ok. But please don't worry it truly was just a little argument." "I'm always going to worry about you. Tonight, you're not leaving my sight. I will wrap my arms around you so you can't leave." "Thanks Josie. But you don't have to." "You're sleeping with me whether you like it or not....I mean I'll have you in my arms because at least I know if you're going to run off or not." Hope nodded and followed me back to her room and then we laid down and I put my arms around her just like I said I would. I felt a little better having her in my arms but didn't make anything more of it. We were just friends and there were no feelings there at least that's what she thinks. After about 10 minutes Hope finally to fall asleep and didn't wake up until I accidentally moved some point in the morning. I found myself right against Hope as I had one of the best night's sleeps that I've had in a while. "Hope?" I say in a soft quiet voice. "Morning." She replied in a sweet quiet tired voice. "How'd you sleep?" I asked as I didn't move my arms off her yet. "Good. How about you?" "Perfect, I've not slept that well in a long time." Hope sat up and stretched a little which made me a little sad because I liked how she was in my arms, and I just didn't want that amazing feeling to end. "Well, that's good." I try not to get distracted by my thoughts that I was in the same bed as Hope. It was also her birthday today and I had been carrying around a birthday present for her. "Happy Birthday Hopey." She turned around a little confused for a second then I think she remembered today was her birthday. "Thanks Josie." I gave Hope a Talisman in return, just like she did for my birthday. "I hope you like it." She looked at the Talisman and kind of grazed the top of it lightly with her fingers admiring it. "I love it thank you." Your welcome Hope, I thought I would get it carved with the Mikaelson symbol too." I know her family means a lot to her, so I wanted to add a little extra special touch. "It's really nice and pretty." "We should get you ready for your birthday, I'm going to make sure you enjoy it." She seems to be enjoying my excitement even though she didn't have much herself. "Ok if you say so." "Hey, cheer up, I'm going to be here for you all day. I won't leave your side if that's what you want or the other way around and I'll give you space." "Well, what all is planned for today anyway...?" "Well, I have something planned for you with Just us and then something with everyone later." I just wanted her to feel better after everything that has happened. "That sounds great." "Now get dressed into something beautiful like yourself and I'll be back as I'm going to go get changed too." I didn't realize that I called her beautiful.
