Chapter 6

(Hope's POV)

"I need to go find Finch and apologize; I'll be back I promise." After Josie went to find Finch, I didn't know what to do so I just walked over to the drinks table and got me a drink. There was music playing and people mingling amongst themselves. While I was getting my drink, I saw Landon and for some reason I was kind of scared, but I tried to ignore it and just kept sipping my drink. I started to walk away from the direction Landon was just trying not to ruin my mood.

(Josie's POV)

I had come across Finch after leaving Hope and she looked completely pissed off. I couldn't be bothered with her attitude right now as things kept getting worse between us. I had a weird feeling Landon was up to something and Finch was being a bitch as I was struggling to have a normal conversation with her. There wasn't seeming to be an end to this conversation. I managed to cross paths with Hope again who didn't exactly look to happy but there was no surprise when Landon wasn't too far behind. "Oh, hey Josie." "Hey, am I glad to see you again." I needed Hopes presence after that argument with Finch. "You enjoying yourself ?" Hope asked me and I up till I reconnected with Hope wasn't enjoying it all that much. "Nope but I am now that I'm back here with you." "Well, that's good?" Hope just took another sip of her drink. "Hey slow down there, something doesn't seem right, what did he do?" "He hasn't done anything we haven't even talked yet tonight. Like I said Josie there's no need to worry it was just a silly little argument." "Let me know if you ever need me to kick his ass." I said smirking with a drink of my own in hand. "I will no worries. But enjoy the part. Go sing I know you like to do that." I blushed hearing Hope compliment my singing and was grateful for being able to have this friendship with her. "You really know how to make me happy Hope." "Well go on don't waste any time." She said with a smile. "What should I even sing?" I was because Hope suggested for me to sing, and I wanted to do good for her. "Just sing whatever you want." I went up to the stage and took the mike and looked over at Hope and then started singing a song that reminded me of her. I was putting a lot of passion into the song and looked over at Hope once again and saw Landon was getting close to her again.

(Landon's POV)

I walked up to Hope who was leaning on a table starting to finish up her drink. And I saw Josie staring towards us but the second she looked away as I came around behind Hope, I slipped something into her drink and started talking at the same time so she wouldn't notice and stood next to her. "Hey, Hope how about we head back to your room, and we can finish celebrating your birthday there? I was hoping the stuff I slipped into her drink would work fast because she was sipping on it as I had started talking to her. She took one final sip of her drink finishing it. I could tell she was starting to feel a little out of it which meant what I did worked. "...Sure...Landon That's...That's....Fine..." "Great lets go then." I start helping Hope out of the gym and am trying to make it clear I want her, but Josie didn't seem convinced when I took a final glance back towards her. Hope stumbled a little on the way to her room. When we got there, she visibly was starting to feel dizzy and could barely see what was happening. And could barely stand up on her own. I had shut the door behind us then I regripped her arms. She tried to push away from me, but she was failing miserably, and I held her up. "What's wrong with you, why are you not wanting this, wanting me!" I was angry at Hope and wanting to get her back after not getting any attention from her at all. "Maybe this will teach you to listen from now on!" I raised my arm about to hit her when I heard a shout come from behind us.

(Josie's POV)

I saw Landon being aggressive with Hope and as I walked up to her room, I saw her barley standing and him raising his arm about to hit her. I have had enough of people treating her like shit. "Get off her!" I yelled at land again to get his hands off her as I noticed she couldn't walk on her own at all. "What the hell did you put in her drink?!" I muttered a spell and sent Landon falling to the floor as I run and catch Hope before she hit the floor and then softly started to lower her into my lap. I was beginning to realize the school wasn't safe for Hope right now as I look to take her some place else. I carried her into the car with a bunch of her belongings hoping she wouldn't mind, and I headed to the nearest hotel.

(Hope's POV)

I heard lots of yelling, but I couldn't make out who it was and a few moments later everything started to get even more dizzy and fuzzy. And a little after that I wasn't at all standing on my own or holding on. It was just Landon holding me up. I felt something warm and comfortable but didn't know what it was at all or where I was at that point or what was happening, and I was barely able to move at all on my own. I could maybe tilt my head or move a finger. But I was so out of it I didn't know what I was doing. I passed out a little while after I had felt that warm feeling and when I woke up everything was fuzzy, I felt something holding me and I was able to make out that I was not in a room that I recognized. And I felt scared and worried not knowing where I was or what was happening or what happened. And tried pushing away from whoever was holding me. "Hey, hey Hope it's ok you're safe now, I'm right here to look after you." Josie said as she was laying me down on the bed with her hand softly running along my jawline. I flinched feeling what seemed like a girl's touch. I couldn't make out that it was Josie's voice just the words that had come out of her mouth. I backed up and ended up stopping at the headboard of the bed. "Here drink this it will help." The voice spoke again. I pushed it away not trusting drinking anything after remembering feeling dizzy after the drink I had. Josie was also doing a spell to make the effects from the drug wear off. I slowly started to feel everything getting less fuzzy and I finally was able to recognize it was Josie, but I didn't say a single word. I was still in shock and scared because the feelings I felt after I got drugged, I never want to feel again. She got into bed next to me and wrapped her arms around me before I could pull away. I don't know why but when she hugged me, I just wanted to break down I felt used, lost, and scared and I did. I broke down and just started crying in Josie's arms. "Hey shh it's ok you got me Hope, I'm not going anywhere and I'm not letting anyone hurt you ever again I promise." For some reason I just couldn't stop crying and I didn't even truly know why because the last thing I truly remember is Landon taking me to my room. "Look at me Hope, I've got you, I won't let anything happen to you." Josie made sure I felt warm and safe in her arms every time. And that made me feel a little better. I slowly stopped crying but I was still too scared to say a word and if I tried to say something it's like nothing would come out. "Get some sleep my friend. Just remember what time we had together and not what happened with Landon tonight." I just laid down facing away from Josie and tried to sleep but couldn't. Josie tried siphoning from me and I think she was hoping that would do something. "Listen to my voice and close your eyes as I'll be right here for you." I tried to do what Josie was saying but I couldn't. And I started shaking and I couldn't stop it. "w-why- m-me" I was finally able to mutter out. "People don't understand what they have until they lose it. They don't deserve you Hope." Josie softly placed her hand on my cheek trying to calm down or ease my shaking. "w-why am I s-so scared. I d-don't even r-remember what ha-happened." I was so terrified I could barley talk. "Landon drugged you and to take advantage of you and to hurt you. So, if I ever see him again, he's going to pay." Hearing that made me feel more scared. Petrified even and I didn't say another word. "He will not touch you or go near you again I promise. I will protect you." I just laid there in silence not responding or saying anything.
