Waking up

Ticking of the clock is all that could be heard in the room filled with the seven worried shapeshifters. Emily checked Eboni's head to make sure she didn't need to go to the hospital.  There was no blood which was great. Emily just smiled at the worried Paul.

"Honey. It will be fine. She's just unconscious she'll wake up soon. Now boys..." She said as she turned to all the others wolves in the room.

"Paul's gonna need to explain to her what all going on. So go on home for today. Be back here tomorrow for breakfast. Now Paul, Sam and I are gonna be right outside of you need anything give us a yell okay." she said putting her hand ever so gently on his shoulder giving it a tight squeeze. A look of thanks passed over Paul's face, putting his hand over Emily's.

    It wasn't long before Eboni started to come back to her senses. She opened her bright blue eyes with a soft groan. Before she sprang up in a panic, dizziness washed over her from the sudden movement of sitting up to quickly, seeing exactly who was filling her thoughts and dreams. Paul. He was a wolf. A man who can turn into a wolf was flirting with her.

   Paul looked so shocked by Eboni suddenly sitting up. "Eboni, calm down dear. You took quite a fall, you hit your head pretty good. I know we have a lot to talk about...I promised you that I will tell you everything. But I want to make sure you are okay before we start talking baby." All Eboni could manage to do was nod her head.

Before he could talk, she managed to whisper "wait....those old legends are true then. About the shapeshifters in the tribes and cold ones. Vampires are real. Goodness and I thought I had meet monsters. Does that mean i'm not completely bonkers for seeing the things I do!"

    She realized what she'd said " No, no I meant the vampires, not you guys. You're basically just giant dogs." Eboni had turn into a stuttering mess, now trying to back track and cover up her tracks now. Paul looked upset before he broke into a smile and started laughing.

   "Only you can look so damn cute, trying to correct yourself." He said holding his side after laughing so hard. Eboni sighed, pouting a little her lips poked out. Her face grew serious

"Well....I guess you have some explaining to do." She saw Paul take a deep breath, before he swallowed and started his story.

Eboni sat on the edge of the bed as Paul awkwardly paced the room nervously. He looked like he was struggling to find the right words. He knew exactly what he wanted to say, but what was the best way to tell a girl, that you imprinted on her without that person thinking you're forced to love them.

Which Paul was in no way forced to Love Eboni, if he didn't think she was worth it, he would be fighting with everything he had. But no, he needed Eboni as much as she needed him.

Paul finally sighed and sat in the chair in front of Eboni. He toke a deep breath almost feeling as if his stomach was going to fly out through his mouth.

"Eboni, being a wolf there are a lot of things that come with it. Like, we are warmer to the touch then a normal human. I can heal faster." His breath hitched at what he was about to tell her.

Taking a deep breath as he finally confesses " We imprint on people"

       Eboni looked at him slightly confused and concerned "imprint? Like birds do with the first thing they see after they're born they think is there mother?" She asked the innocence of her statement almost radiated off of her person.

Paul was practically sweating at this point. He shook his head. He twisted his hands together nervously.

"No imprint. Like we find the one person in the word who mean the word to us. Meeting this person is almost like finding meaning to the world. Like seeing the world in only black and white. Not knowing how truly beautiful everything is knowing that, that one person is in your world who brings color into it."
