"Ermmmm... Oh! Borage?"
"Yep! Now what about this?"
"....."
"Yarrow"
I always get that one wrong, well I got it wrong two times but still.
"It's ok RainKit, you aren't even my apprentice yet and you know most of there herbs!"
I sigh knowing that's not true and look up at the tortoiseshells yellow eyes, HawkWing returning the look. In the distance I hear the familiar voice of OwlStar calling a meeting.
"Cmon, we shouldn't be late"
After returning herbs the their shelves we rush out of the medicine den, quick to be close to the Highrock. I look up to the top of the stony ledge, MouseKit said he was going to be up there one day... I doubt it.
I look over to see MellowTail shoving the dusty-colored trio of kits out of the Nursery. Fussing over every little whisker out of place on them. DuskKit, CinderKit and MouseKit trot through the clearing practically beaming, past the warriors and to the foot of the Highrock.
"MouseKit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known....."
I nearly dozed off before DuskKit walked up to be named.
    "Wasn't that great?!" CinderPaw rejoiced
"Yeah! We're all apprentices now, I got QuailSpot, the strongest warrior ever!" MousePaw exclaimed
"That's a bit of a stretch" Commented DuskPaw. "I got AdderStrike, but you would've known that if you even listened!"
"Oh yea? Than who's my mentor?" Retorted CinderPaw
    "SnowLeap"
    "Oh..."
With heavy eyelids I slugged to the Nursery, catching a sharp glare from MellowTail as she flicked her tail and trudged to the Warriors Den.
I enter the Nursery and wallow in the usual cold lonelinesses, but this time it's even worse being alone. Crawling to my usual corner I curl up and drift to sleep
*******
Loud noises and panicked screams is all I hear, the pinkish tint of my eyelids color my vision. no opening my eyes here, not yet...
I wake up cold, really cold. The same red tint is all I see as first I attempt to open my eyes. But finally, I crack my eyes open for the first time, only to be met with a scowl. The pale brown tabby stands up and yells words I don't know, I don't know any words.
Fault. That was one of the first words I learned, usually paired with "Your". My fault, what is? What's my fault? What did I do? What did I do? What did I do? What did I do? What did I do? What did I do? What did I do? What did I do? What did I do? WHAT DID I DO? WHAT DID I DO? WHAT DID I DO? WHAT DID I DO? WHAT DID I DO? WHAT DID I DO? WHAT DID I DO-

*******
Water splats on my nose, leaking from the ceiling. Rain, my namesake, and something I hate very much.
