Introductions

Anthony walked first then me and then  Alejandro following close behind me I could tell he was anxious from the new setting so I let him stay by me till he felt comfortable we walk into another room and the more we get closer to the loud noises the tighter Alejandro is holding onto my arm we reach a sort of courtyard on the outside of the house which was the breakfast area

'Do we have to tell them about our gifts ?' Anthony set a lineup so we could always talk to him if he was in the range

'they know about mine and don't worry they have gifts too'

'no way the reason we moved was that we got kicked out for protecting people with our power this is going to be some rip off x-man shit'

'Santi DONT remind me of why you had to leave' again and again and again he reminds me of why I and Alejandro left and why he had to come back home for us

'Look I am Going to have to introduce you to the family that means showing your powers there cannot be any secrets they helped me when I was in pain the least I can do I let them know something'

"Go, everyone knows you so just get their attention"

At this point, the family was giving us weird looks like they weren't eating breakfast outside

"Fine, Can I have everyone's attention ?"

The table went silent the nice old lady who's name I presume is Abuela was standing next to us waiting

"as you all know my name is Anthony these are my two brothers, Alejandro and Santiago just like me they have gifts I will leave it to them to introduce themselves and their gifts"

with that, this prick left us to go sit down next to this chick with a bunch of flowers I know Alejandro is still anxious so I went first to show him everything's okay

"Hello my name is Santiago I am 18 I and my brothers are from a small village up north of here my gift is chameleon I can blend into my surroundings making it almost impossible to see me, my veins are often visible and you can see when my mood shifts because the color of my veins thought my skin shift color"

I shift into my surroundings and walk behind a girl with a big red bow then shifted back, she didn't move much but the rest slightly jumped when they saw me I gave her a wink and walked away to go stand with Alejandro

"hey Hermano you got this I believe in you" he gave me a simple nod and turned to the rest

"hi my name is Alejandro my gift is shadow paralysis; I can hold someone completely with a shadow in that time they can barely move and speak but using my gift is very straining, I only use it in life or death situations and can be harmful to the person. I will use my big brother Anthony as my test subject because he is used to my gift and I want to show you all some training we usually do" I turn to him nod then turn to Anthony

"Oh come on not again y'all promised" he gets up sulking a little

"yeah but that was before you scared me half to death with a house"

"casita was just saying hello"
"just do it" I hand him a bell and he
grudgingly counts
"fine, 3, 2, 1-"

before I can look Anthony is sprinting away I give Alejandro the ok I blend start running to catch him and at almost perfect timing he stops in his tracks and I've caught the bell

"damn, 5 year age difference and you still can't keep me away from this bell"

we turn back and see all of them with a jaw to the floor I get a little shy and go behind Anthony he ruffles my hair and we walk back to finally eat

I start making small talk with Abuela and she tells me her youngest grandson is having his gift ceremony tomorrow
"whoa we came just in time then"

"yes you all did it's a pleasure to have you all here, your brother is always talking about you both"

I get a little red at the thought he always teases use I didn't expect him to brag about us

I grab my food and by the time I sit down there is only one seat left and it's thankfully next to Alejandro but next to me there's someone about my age he has really pretty hair and faint freckles you can barely see

'whoa he's pretty' my brothers were making small talk with their neighbors but froze and their heads snap towards me
'he's single' 'shut up Anthony'

"I didn't do anything"

"what about the line you set up don't you understand" I start whisper yelling to him and he just chuckles and continues his conversation with a girl with glasses next to him and from his body language I ain't ever gonna let him go 'SIMP' he flinched and gave me a death glare before turning back Alejandro just gave me a laugh and turned back

"Uhm hi you're named Santiago right ?" A girl sitting next to Alejandro asks "Yes"

"um sorry I didn't react earlier my gift lets me hear everything around me so I could hear your footsteps so I wasn't too surprised when you ended up next to me"

"Ohh that makes sense Anthony told me that someone from the village had amazing hearing no need to apologize I didn't take any offense, by the way, I didn't catch your name"

"hm I'm Dolores it's a pleasure to meet you"

"the pleasures all mine" I felt an elbow at my side and made eye contact with Alejandro and he signed to me
'not her I like her' he often signed when it felt difficult to speak
"of course Hermano good luck" he got all red and turned down to his plate and finished up his food I followed soon after

While washing my dish the guy I called pretty walked into the kitchen with my brother I didn't pay much mind even tho I was freaking tf out

"hey Santi come over here for a second" 'oh shit' he chuckles 'tf you smiling at whore'
"don't be a smart ass" "...fine"
I finish drying my hands and walk up to the two "Santi this is Camilo, Camilo this is my brother Santiago....play nice" 'you cunt' 'paybacks a bitch no ?'
