Chapter 4

We walked into what seemed like Anthony's room; it was dark, plenty of paintings on the walls, he had a set of stuffed animals that we got when we were little, I'm surprised he still had them. Before I cool finish looking around his room Anthony spoke up

"I need you all on your best behaviors, tomorrow it's little Antonio's gift ceremony and Abuela was grateful enough to let us stay here in casita so you WILL be on your best behavior"

"We know we know this isn't the first time going to a ceremony" I brush pretend dust off my shoulders and comb my hair back with an imaginary brush, they both roll their eyes and Alejandro speaks up

"last time we got kicked out Santi" damn, he did me like that-

"shhh we don't bring that up, Alejandro"

"Okay I'm assigning you rooms I have my room and I don't need Abuela stressing over Antonio and on top of having to tell casita to make rooms for us"

"Dude don't explain we understand just who are we going to share a room with"

"c'mon Santi he's the only other guy besides Antonio, and Antonio doesn't even have a room yet!"

"dude your punishment for me being a smart ass is putting me in the same room as the guy I think is attractive"

"don't act like you can't control yourself"

"Of course, I can control myself! I'm just saying I've had one conversation with him and it wasn't even a full talk cuz I thought Alejandro was in trouble so I left midway through our 'howdy-do's'"

"You did what" he looked irritated like I just wronged him or something

"I left halfway through? I needed to make sure Alejandro was okay so I told him I'll see him around and that I needed to find my brother which was the truth"

"oh lord you're dense"

"What did I do this time Anthony ?! honestly tell me cuz I was simply making sure my brother wasn't in danger of getting a panic attack"

"look never mind. Alejandro, you're sticking with me tonight"

"no fair why can't we all stay in one room"

"because last time we stayed in a room together you wrote all over my head in marker and I had a meeting that morning"

"I WAS 13"

"I'm not risking it" the smallest chuckle came out of Alejandro

"you've betrayed me, my own blood" I put my hand over my head and pretend faint which just made Alejandro laugh harder

"Whatever goes and change we're going to go help the town with the rest of the family"

~Time skip~
'I was trained to hunt down killers. not get a cat out of a tree "I HEARD THATTTT"

"piss off before I completely block you out" Anthony just hands the cat to the little girl telling her to be careful, when she walks away I try to take my chance but as per usual I get cut off

"You okay Hermoso ?" Shit

"AH- oh hi Camilo, nice to see you, sorry for walking out earlier"

"It's alright it was your brother I would do the same thing for Dolores" his sister is Dolores?

"Hey I heard you were going to room with me and I just want to let you know my room shifts depending on my mood so don't be surprised if you wake up and see a completely different room" he looks anxious; fidgeting with his fingers, avoiding eye contact, he was kind of red too
