It made my heart race.
Just by reading his name pop onto the screen. I felt uneasy. Not in a weird way though.
I tried stalking him.
But to my disappointment, his profile was locked.
I did not respond to his request, I didn't delete it as well. Just there.
I put my phone back to my pocket and decided to continue what I was doing earlier. I was trying to fill out forms for my internship this year. I am planning to have my internship at The Horizeen Hotel. One of the biggest Hotel Chains sa bansa. I am also planning for international hotels, pero mukhang mahihirapan ako pag sa international hotel.
I went home after ko mag fill out nung forms. I need to talk to my parents regarding my plans. And just to check if we can afford to have my internship abroad, which I doubt hindi kakayanin. My family is average family only. Both of my parents are professors sa isang State Univ. My kuya is in military. I am the youngest.
My life is somehow boring. Aral-bahay lang ang inaatupag ko. Sometimes I go out, with Sheena. But mostly I stay in our house. Mejo strict kasi ang parents ko. Sadly, I am still following some strict rules just because my parents said so.
I laid in my bed when suddenly I received an unknown text message.
"Hey"
I texted Sheena accusing her of sharing my personal contact number to someone.
"Hoy, hindi ko binibigay sa kung sino yung contact info mo, huwag feeling."- Sheena texted back
I ignored the text message. As usual.
I sometimes receive some texts so what I usually do is to ignore only the text messages.
"I heard you and your friend talked about me earlier." -another text from the same number
My heart is racing. How the hell did he got my phone number?
"You didn't accept my request. So I texted you. Jace here"
I think there's no need for him to drop his name. Just by reading the first sentence caught me off guard.
"If you want to know more about me, I can tell you anything"
This time I reply back.
"I am really sorry. It wasn't my intention to talk about you in the first place. I am not really interested in your life, it is my friend so you can beep her up. I apologize if I ever insulted you in a way."
I didn't wait for his reply since I blocked his number right away. I can't afford this kind of unusual feelings right now.
The next day, I saw Jace in my classroom. I was a little bit surprised about his presence. Good thing I am not assumera enough and remembered his a butterfly student since he skips classes from time to time. Maybe he has this subject this sem.
Now that I've seen him closer. I can really tell he's good looking. Tall, dark complexion, good built. It screams bad-ass guy. His face is alluring. I mean good set of teeth, tangos na ilong, dark brown eyes, not so thick brows. He's handsome, that's a fact.
I didn't mind him and directly sat down. The professor was having a lecture when i felt my phone vibrated.
"So, you blocked my phone number. Good thing I have spare"
I deleted the message and didn't mind his message. I need to focus.
Why is he bothering me though? Goodness!
"For your upcoming internship, I would like to inform everyone that there's no need to apply for The Horizeen. Jace here, already talked to his grandfather, Hon. Martin Aquino to accept all the applicants for internship. Let's thank Jace"
"No problem prof, I'm glad I can help. Hopefully you will add this goodwill of mine onto your lists of rumors hahaha'' He laughed hardly with his own joke. The others as well laughed, others clapped for him.
The class ended well, and I picked up my things. I was about to go out when he suddenly blocked my way.
"Hey"
I just looked at him, with my usual face.
"I know I am too mahangin, I may sound rude to you but I just want to be friends with you"
"Why should we be friends?"- I asked him. I mean yeah why should we be friends? kulang ba siya sa kaibigan?
"Oh, do you want more than that?"- he asked sheepishly
Now I get it. Why some of the girls fall for him. Magaling siyang mambola.
"Nooo, thank you"- I declined politely. Ayokong ma associate sa kanya. No.

The time went by and I am already having my internship here at The Horizeen. The first few weeks were hard but it was manageable. But my schedule is getting busier. I need to report still to the University and plus my shift sa hotel.
If you want to know what happened between us ni Jace. Well, nothing. After I rejected his friendship proposal, he walked out. And I never seen him after that. No contact, no trace, nothing.
But nawala nalang siya. Period. I mean ewan ko. I felt a little bit guilty. I mean, na guilty ako nang onti. Maybe he was offering a real friendship.
I don't know!
I was about to have break from the reception area when someone familiar was in the desk.
"Good morning sir. How may I help ----- you"
A pang of shock crossed my face when I saw Jace's face covered with bruises. It was a fresh bruise. And his lips had a cut.
"Get me the presidential suite."- he told me really coldly.
"Sir?"- I was still processing what' happening with him. I mean not as if I care but he's bruised.
He leaned to the next person beside me.
"Get me the presidential suite"- ibinaling niya sa katabi ko in which he directly obliged. binigay niya ang susi tsaka umalis papunta sa elevator.
"Panlimang check in na niya to, halos basag basag ang mukha. Hindi ko alam kung matatakot ba ako o maaawa sa sitwasyon niya."- sabi ng kasamahan ko. Napabaling ako sa kanya
"His mom, committed suicide last month." he turned to me. "Hindi na ata kinaya ang pambababae nang tatay niya, drank sleeping pills."
I am tearing up. I don't know. Guilty? It has been weeks since the last time I saw him. I didn't know. Maybe he was really looking for a friend during that time. And I cold-heartedly decline him. Only because I thought it wasn't good for me.
I could've helped him at least.
And without thinking I am already in front of his room, carrying a medical kit with me. The thing is, no one forced me. I went here on my own. I walked through the traps on my own. Fate accepted.
