Melisa’s POV:

When Sean and I walked into the party, a bunch of people turned their heads to look at us. A group of girls across the room were doing everything under the sun to get Sean’s attention, but he just kept staring at me with a goofy grin on his face, ignoring them.

I wonder what has gotten into him.

Suddenly, Shayla walked up to me with a big smile on her face.

“So guess who is into you?” she slurred her speech as if she was drunk.

“Who?” I asked her cautiously, hoping she wouldn’t publicly embarrass me because of what might be in that red plastic cup.

“Collin, duh! Who else would like you?” she suddenly sounded clearer now, plus her eyes went wide when someone came through the door.

“What?” I asked her noticing the look in her eyes.

“Oh crap,” she muttered as she brushed her hair nervously then looked down toward the ground.

“Who is it?” I asked again.

“Just look behind you,” she muttered underneath her breath as she turned away from me.

I slowly turned around only to see the horrible Emily Sleeper, the local bimbo that guys threw themselves on. To be honest her last name is perfect for her since she does sleep around.

“She hates me as of yesterday,” Shayla murmured as she led me away from Emily the terrible.

“What happened this time?” I asked, already knowing that there was this thing about a boy paying Shayla more attention than Emily, and it’s making Emily mad.

“I don’t know who the heck the guy is, but he likes me!” she whisper yelled as her eyes widened in false alarm. (She loves attention from boys any given day it is.)

“Oh give me a break, isn’t it that one dude with the Mohawk?” I asked her as if she knew who I was talking about, but really I was just pulling her leg.

“Oh god, if it’s him I’m going to barf,” Shayla fake gagged as a guy, that so happened to have a Mohawk, walked passed us.

I smiled evilly as the guy looked over at us and checked out Shayla’s derriere. This was way too funny to pass up!

“I think it’s him because he’s checking out your butt.”

Shayla let out a yelp and covered her booty within three seconds, all while her face was turning seven shades of red. In the distance you could hear Emily laugh and say something about a double wide rear end, but I didn’t want to know what, or who, she was talking about.

“I hate my butt, black guys and ugly guys are attracted to it!” Shayla fake wined, because honestly she loves her butt and black guys. Ugly guys are a different story though. Just one conversation about one can turn her into a monster.

“You are so contradictory,” I smiled as I wrapped my shoulder around her and led her deeper into the house.

“You want to meet some Africans?” she raised her eyebrows in question, as her ocean blue eyes twinkled mischievously.

Sean’s POV

I followed Melissa’s actions with my eyes as the usual adoring group of girls came up to me in hopes of me landing one of them tonight. Sadly, I have my eyes on one girl and only one girl.

And, as usual, I ignored them as I walked up to my friend, Adam, and slugged him on the back for a greeting.

“Hey Sean,” he threw over his shoulder as he focused on what he was doing, which was arm wrestling with another guy.

“You still have to prove that you’re stronger than most guys, don’t you?” I asked matter of factly even though I knew he was going to lay his usual response on me.

“Someday Sean some guy will come up to you and say he’s stronger than you. What will you do then?” he prodded back as his arm started to shake.

Playing into this, I smiled as I drew closer to his back as the words flew right out of me. “I guess I’d wrestle him,” I teased him from behind.

“Oh dear lord, don’t tell me you’re going to...”

Adam never got to finish his words as I tackled him from behind putting him in the headlock position, all the while my head started to throb like crazy for no freaking reason.

“Ha ha!” Adam yelled once he was the one who was pinning me down on the floor with the famous smirk that managed to melt the girls around us on instant impact.

“Okay, okay, you got me. Now will you get off of me?” I asked as I winked at a girl standing across from me, who happened to very much enjoy my muscles.

“Sure thing, Bro,” he slipped off of me and helped me up with one of his vein popping arms.

“So do you want to help me out with something?” I asked him with a mischievous smile.

“Anything for you my brother,” he gave me a man hug with a smirk on his face, already knowing what I had stored up my sleeves.

 Collin’s POV

It wasn’t until when Sean showed up with Melissa that the party became interesting. I mean she’s supposed to be my girl, but she’s with a guy that wants to make it impossible for me to even talk to her.

“Melissa troubles?” Keaton moved his head in Sean’s direction indicating that it was more him than her.

“Yeah,” I said dully as I took a drink of the sugary liquid in my cup.

“Don’t worry, I doubt that pretty boy will even make her like him,” Keaton reassured me as he popped his can of soda open.

“I hope you’re right,” I said slowly as Sean suddenly made his way through the crowd towards Melissa while Adam Matheson made his way towards where Keaton and I were hanging.

“How are you Collin?” Adam asked me as he propped himself up on the counter in the kitchen and snapped open a can of coke.

“I’m fine, you?” I approached this cautiously, not knowing where the heck he was going with this.

“Pissed,” he glared down at me sending me a hard look.

I knew I should restrain my language but I just had to flick him off then and there. Fast and furiously Adam took a swing at me and knocked me off my feet.

“Dude don’t let a freakin’ Jock beat you up at your own party!” Josh came over and pulled me up.

Within a few minutes both of us were on the floor punching each other hard in the face. I was winning, well until Melissa walked by and uttered a phrase that froze me in my place.

“I can’t believe I was going to date a guy who fights for no freaking reason.” I heard her say before Adam socked me one hard and knocked me out.

“Argh...” I woke up groaning, holding my jaw in pain.

“Dude everybody left.” Josh said from somewhere nearby.

“Yeah once the host is knocked out, they go to the other guy’s house for the party,” Keaton added as he came into my line of vision.

“Freak that idiot can’t restrain himself from a fight,” Josh said again from a place that I couldn’t see.

All I knew is that Adam is so going to get it when I see him next time.
