Dad and I go out the door to the jeep. We're driving and I'm still debating on asking but if I don't it'll eat me alive "Hey Dad?"

He looks at me briefly then looks back to face the road saying, "What's up?" I look down and start moving in my seat and fiddling with my hands feeling very, very uncomfortable and nervous.

I see out of my peripheral that my dad's smiling and I can only imagine why, and he tells me "Hey you know you can ask me anything, right."

I look at him and smile, but it quickly fades as I remember why I'm asking. I sigh and finally muster the power to speak "Well I'm just wondering if there's anything that I could look for. That could tell me whether or not I'm a . . . Demon."

Dad looks over to me and again looking back at the road. He looks as if he's thinking then he answers "Yes there is. I would pay attention to how you feel. If your easily angered or more irritable. Sometimes when that happens, you'll feel hot as if a fire started inside you and it slowly gets worse. When that happens, your eyes might change.

So, if that does happen, I'm handing you a note I wrote a long time ago just in case. So, all you have to do is hold it up and the teachers know to let you go. They are already aware of it.

So, if it happens just leave and go find a spot to cool off. If you don't feel comfortable staying that maybe, you could hurt someone then go to the office after you calm down a bit. They'll call me and I'll bring you home. Alright"

I respond with a slight smile feeling a bit better knowing I can keep an eye out for things "Yeah okay, thanks dad"

He smiles back as he pulls into the parking lot of Beacon Hills High School. Dad then moves getting into the glove compartment getting out a slip of paper.

He grabs it closing the glove compartment and hands it to me saying "Now don't lose this alright. I'll have my phone on me. So, all you have to do is go to class and keep your temper in check. Alright now get out of here. I think I see your friends waiting

I then turn back to face my dad as he hands me my backpack. I smile at him saying as I open the door stepping out "Thanks again dad, see you after school."

I shut the door as I walk up to my friends and as I do I hear the horn of the jeep and I turn to see my dad rolling down the window as he drives up to us saying "Hey Benny, why don't you invite your friends over, huh?"

My dad is the literal definition of a man-child!!! "Seriously!!" I shake my head feeling deeply embarrassed and I now just high tail it to my locker. Ignoring my friends calling out to me.

It's now lunch time and I've been able to get over my dad embarrassing me. I find my friends and sit with them, and Ethan asks "Hey, you okay B?"

I smile and respond "Uh yeah sorry just I kinda freaked out." Rory interjects into the conversation "Yeah well anyone would have had the exact same reaction as you if their parent did that. It's a completely normal human response."

I smile and say, "Thanks Rory, I actually feel better." We talk some more and end up talking about who would win batman or iron man when the bell rings to signal classes are about to start. We all pack up and head to class.

I'm dreading this class as the teacher is a complete nightmare. If there was a physical representation of nightmares it would be this teacher, Mr. Snare, my mythology teacher.

He asks a question to state 3 different supernatural creatures, and they're names if possible. He calls on me and I didn't even raise my hand, but I still answer "Vampire: Dracula, Werewolf: The Wolf Man, and Demon: Crowley."

Mr. Snare now right in front of my desk looking straight ahead with his hands behind his back asks me directly "Now explain why you choose those 3 Mr. Stilinski."

I sigh and answer hesitantly "Um? I didn't, I just said the first ones that came to my head" He now looks at me in the eyes and asks "Why choose demon of all things? With so many different ones and some more common than demons."

The bell rings signaling the end of class and again I high tail it out as he says "Stilinski, stay" I stop just short of the door and turn around walking back towards his desk as he sits in the chair interlocking his fingers then asks as he un-interlocks his fingers getting up and making his way over to me "Tell me. What do you know of Demons?"

I'm immediately creeped and uneasy. I start shifting my weight from one foot to the other and I start rubbing the side of my neck and start racking my brain to find the words and I swallow hard finally speaking "uuummmm, I. . . I thought. . .class ended, isn't this something class related? "

He looks to the side with his eyes and says "Yes, I suppose that's true. Then write a report on what you know of Demons, and I'll give you extra credit."

I just tell him thank you and I leave going to the bathroom to calm my nerves a bit. I walk in checking to make sure that I'm alone not wanting to be around people right now.

I lean against the wall sliding down till I'm on the floor and I just sit there with my back and head against the wall. I finally get up and I turn on the sink to splash some water on my face.

I grab the paper towel from the dispenser and pat my face just so I can see. I look in the mirror looking at myself and I take a deep breath before taking one last look at myself seeing if my eyes are different. There's nothing so I continue until I get to class, and I make it just before the bell rings.

The bell just rung to signal the end of school and I find Ethan amongst the chaos along with Rory.

We all make our way towards the double doors that lead to the parking lot where I know my dad will be. We just get to the doors, and we push them open, and I hear the honk of a jeep, my dad's jeep.

I look to see my dad's cj5 baby blue jeep and I smile waving goodbye to my friends. I open the door and I hop into the seat closing the door. He looks over to me and asks "Sooo how was your . . ."

I interrupt him not wanting to talk about it "I don't want to talk about it, alright!" I see his eyes open a bit more, but he doesn't say anything as he pulls out of the parking spot and start driving towards the exit of the parking lot to drive home.
