Welcome to part two of 'A Girl Named Sharpie'! It is finally here! Without further ado here is part two!(Rhyme intended)
Seven years has past since Sharpie and Danger parted ways. Sharpie is now a nurse at the local hospital and Danger is a pretty famous basketball player.
An accident happens which causes their paths to cross again.
Things are going to be fine and dandy now right? They can pick up their friendship where it left off right? Not so much.
Fame has changed Danger and Sharpie is not the shy outcast she was before.
But then again seven years is quite along time and people change. (Note: this is a FICTION story so people, places, and names are made up.)
*Seven years later*
Sharpie's POV
"Garrett Pendland has done it again! I hate to say it Bob, but if it wasn't for Pendland then the Lion's wouldn't have won this game. Next stop the championships that will be held in Wilmer next week."
I turned off the tv and sat back on the couch. I always tell myself that I shouldn't be watching him, but he really is an amazing an amazing basketball player. And now hearing that the championships will be held here next week makes me uneasy.
It is crazy what can change in just seven years. There is me who has graduated nursing school and who has a stable life now. Then there is Danger who is a famous basketball player and who is living the high life.
We are two totally different people now. Seven years changes people.
I had vowed to myself that I wouldn't come back to this place, but then my mother grew ill and I knew I had to come back.
I heard my watch beep signaling that it was time for me to head to work. I pulled my hair back into a tight bun, grabbed my purse, and headed out the door.
When I arrived for my twelve hour shift, I clocked in and began my rounds.
About seven hours into my shift I was standing at the nurses station going over some of my patients charts when I felt arms circle around my waist. A cup of coffee was sa down in front of me and I spun around in the person's arms.
"Hey babe. I brought you some coffee since you are working a long shift." I smiled up at James, my boyfriend.
I met James about two years ago when I started working at the hospital. James is the head cardiac doctor in the hospital and one day I accidentally ran into him, spilling coffee all over him.
For the next six months we got to know each other better and the one day James asked me on a date. Now a year and a half later here we are.
I smiled up at him and took a step back. "Awe, you are too sweet."
"So I was thinking that we could have dinner at my place tonight around nine. I will make my famous spaghetti, your favorite!" James bribed me. His spaghetti was the best in the world so I did not hesitate to say yes.
After a few sips of coffee and a few minutes of chatting, I was needed on the third floor which put a cease to our conversation.
With a quick goodbye kiss we parted ways and I was thrown back into my nursing duties. Which I love.
