Y/N POV-
Our last morning together. We were both awake early. We were just laying in bed cuddling. I kept kissing her and she didn't know why. Of course I did. "Natasha, have we ever actually just hugged?" I asked. "Y/N you've done nothing but kiss and cuddle me all morning, now you want to hug?" She laughed. "Yeah I mean it feels like we never have." I told her. "We will, just when it feels right." She replied to which I nodded.
We decided to get up and get dressed into our suits. We made our way downstairs where everyone was sat at the table enjoying breakfast. We joined them and started chatting with everyone. I watched Wanda and Yelena. They didn't have to go on the mission. They're able to get their happy ever after.
We all finished eating and it was time to go. I hugged Wanda and Carol tightly. I was going to miss them too. I hugged Yelena and asked her to always be there for Natasha. She was confused but agreed anyway. Most of all, I was going to miss Natasha. She was going to be the last face I see just like she stated before.
"See you in a minute." Natasha said to Steve before we all were sent into another realm. Me and Natasha were with Rhodey and Nebula who were in the same time zone. We said goodbye and good luck to them before we headed to vormir.
We walked up the stairs holding hands before a hooded figure with a read face appeared before us. "Welcome." It said. Both me and Natasha drew our weapons and pointed it at the figure. "Who are you?" Natasha asked. "Consider me a guide. To you, and to all who seek the Soul Stone." It replied. "Oh fantastic, so just tell us where it is and we'll be on our way." I stated. "If only it were that easy." It stated.
The figure started to move past us to which we followed. We were brought to a cliff. "What you seek lies in front of you, as does what you fear." Red skull said. "The stone is down there?" Natasha asked rhetorically. "Only for one of you," The figure claimed which made Natasha's heart drop, "In order to take the stone, you must lose that which you love. An everlasting exchange. A soul, for a soul." It continued.
Small time skip
Natasha was sat on a log trying to contemplate what the figure had just told us. "Maybe he's making it up." She said. "No Natasha, I don't think he is." I told her sadly knowing this would be the last moment that I saw her, "Thanos left here with the stone without his daughter. It's not a coincidence." I continued. "Yeah." She said as she nodded.
I helped her up off of the log before saying "Whatever it takes." To which she repeated this. "If we don't get that stone, billions of people stay dead." She told me. "Then I guess we both know who it's gotta be." I said. "I guess we do" She replied as she looked into my eyes, "I'm starting to think we don't mean the same person." She said. "Baby, all I ever wanted was a life with you." I told her, "I'm so sorry I couldn't give you your happy ending but you have to know that I love you so much. So so much Natasha. I promise I'll be there when you sleep, in your dreams because... I love you."
I wrapped my arms around her waist and she wrapped hers around my neck. We stayed like this for a couple of minutes before I pressed my forehead against hers. "I'm trying to save your life Y/N" She told me. "Natasha you know who I am and what i've done." I replied. "Yeah well I don't judge people on their worst mistakes." She told me. "Maybe you should." I responded. "You didn't judge me when I couldn't leave Bruce, or when I tried to keep my place in the team by calling you a criminal. You didn't judge me." She told me. "You're a pain in my ass you know that?" I said as I chuckled slightly which she mimicked. "It has to be me." She said. "Okay. You win." I lied before I pinned her to the ground.
"You can be with your family, the avengers." I told her. She wrapped her legs around my head and brought me down before she got up. "You are my family." She told me before she electrocuted me. She began to run towards the cliff. She jumped before I leaped and grabbed ahold of her. I hooked her up with a grappling hook but she was holding onto my hand tightly.
"Damn you Y/N." She said as she clutched my hand tightly. "Natalia, baby, listen," I started as tears began to fill her eyes, "I love you so much. All of them times I hated you before, it was because of how much you intimidated me and made me nervous like no one ever could. I regret spending that year away from you. I've always loved you Natasha and I always will. I'll be with you forever. Like I promised." She couldn't help but let audible sobs out. "I love you Y/N, please don't do this. Please." She begged. My hand began to slip out of hers. I looked into her eyes deeply, to remember the way she looks at me. "To whatever end" I whispered before I kicked off the wall. As I was falling I watched Natasha's face. I wanted to see her one last time. I could hear her screams as I fell. I really did love her. I always will.
NATASHA POV-
I watched as her beautiful but bleeding body lay lifeless on the bottom of vormir. I couldn't see much since my tears were blurring my vision. How am I going to live without her? Without ever seeing her face ever again, hearing her voice or feeling her touch.
A boom sound came from the sky which lit it up. Before I knew it I was kneeled down in a pool of water with the soul stone in my hands. That was the last time I was ever going to be able to see her face. I screamed at the top of my lungs before I was sent back to the compound.
"Natasha where's Y/N?" Bruce asked. I just stared into the distance. The silence was enough for them to understand what happened. They respected my silence and stayed silent too.
I was going to miss her so much.
