The first thing that I saw when I walked outside was the knife that was in George's hand. It's a good thing that they had walked around to the backyard or else the neighbours would have probably called the police.
"George! Get away from him! How dare you come to this family's house and act like this! Leave! Now!" I screamed.
I quickly glanced over to make sure Adam wasn't hurt. But I wasn't quick enough. George had punched me in the same spot he had punched this morning and in the same spot where the bruise was.
The pain was so much I could have puked. I fell to my knees and began to weep. Jace quickly bent down and rapped his arms around me for comfort.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I heard my dads rusty voice. "You can't even take a hit? Ha! You're not my daughter!" he laughed and turned to Adam. "And you're not my son!"
I heard footsteps hoping he was leaving, but I was wrong, like always. He knelt down in front of me and forced my lips onto his. I fought to get away but he was too strong, luckily for my Adam and Jace were stronger. They pulled him off and told him that if he didn't leave then we would call the cops.
Jace took me inside where Annie was waiting.
"Where's Carrie?" Adam asked.
"She's in bed, don't worry about her. Is he gone? Are you two ok?"
"Yep, were fine. And yea he's gone." I answered as the tears continued to fall down my cheeks.
"Jace, you take Phoenix upstairs okay?" Adam asked.
"Yep." He replied before throwing me over his shoulder and running upstairs. Jace always knew how to lighten a mood.
He sat me on his bed and laid down close beside me. I stared at the TV which was still playing 'The Little Mermaid' but I could feel Jace's stare burning a hole in my head.
"Are-are you ok?" His voice was calm.
"Yea I'm fine, I just can't get the taste of his gross lips out of my mouth." I cringed at the thought. "And my cheek really hurts."
"Here, let me see it." He said before I turned my head to let him see. "Oh my god!" He nearly screamed.
"What? What? What?" I panicked.
"Just wait here, I'll be back with a wet cloth and what ever other kinda shit my mom gives me." I couldn't help but laugh at his response.
I sat on his bed and continued to watch the little mermaid.
I really wish Jace had a mirror in his room so I could see how bad the bruise really was. I put the tip of my index finger on the cheek to see how sensitive it was. I pulled it back I instantly from the pain and when I looked at my finger I saw blood. The next thing I knew it began to drip down my cheek and on to my sweater. I tried opening my mouth to call Jace but it hurt too much. I began to cry, not only from the pain but because oh how weak and useless I felt.
"Jace." I squealed out in pain, barely making a sound.
I would have gone downstairs myself but Carrie might have gotten out of bed and I would hate for her to see me like this. And then I would have to make up a lie about what happened. I stood up and walked over to the door.
"Jace!" I screamed and fell to the floor that now had several drops of blood.
Jace came running up the stairs with a panicked look on his face. He ran to me and sat on the floor. He gently dabbed up all the blood and poured peroxide over it so it wouldn't get infected.
"Thank you Jace." It hurt a lot less to talk now.
"No probleamo. Are you sure you're okay now?"
"Yea." I nodded.
"Okay good. And this might not be a good time but you're brother had to go get stitches."
"What? At the hospital? He can't tell them what happened!" Even though my mouth and face hurt like hell I pushed through the pain and screamed.
"No. We aren't going to! Don't worry. My moms gonna tell the doctors that he was being an idiot and accidentally cut himself."
"Well what about all of the other scars and but pen marks from my mom and dad?"
"Uhh, she'll probably just tell them that he had a bad past or something." He assured me.
"Okay, thanks Jace."
"Thanks for what?"
"For always being there for us. It really means a lot."
He pulled me into a tight, comforting hug. We just stayed there on the floor hugging. I didn't want to let go and I had a feeling that he didn't either.
After about a full two minutes I pulled back. "We should probably wipe up the blood."
"That's a good idea." He agreed and we began to wipe the floor.
After we finished cleaning the floor we watched the last six minutes that was still playing of the little mermaid. When it ended I heard snoring on the bed beside me. I let out a small giggle. I have honestly never met anyone other than Jace who does this. He can't go through a whole movie without falling asleep.
Sleeping would help past time while I wait for Adam and Annie to get home. I moved closer beside him and closed my eyes.
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
I woke up to the sound of the front door opening and closing. I looked over to see Jace, still sound a sleep. I carefully got out of bed and tiptoed downstairs, trying not to wake him. When I got down I saw Adam and Annie taking off their shoes and coats.
"Where's Carrie?"
"What?" Adams head snapped up.
"Is she playing outside or something?"
"I don't know, is she?" She looked confused yet panicked.
"I don't know. She went with you two to the hospital!" I was freaking out.
"No she didn't. We left her here with you!"
"Is she still in the bedroom?" Adam ran past me down the hall and into the bedroom where Carrie was still safely sleeping.
"You need to be more careful! She could have runaway again!" Adam shouted. Carrie ran away two summers ago and was missing for a whole day.
"I know. I'm sorry." I said and ran back upstairs and into Jace's room. I slammed the door shut behind me forgetting that there was a sleep ugh boy behind me, well he was sleeping. I know I overreacted but I don't care.
"What's wrong?" Jace asked as he sat up. His hair was a mess and personally I thought it looked so sexy.
"Nothing." I snapped. "I'm sorry, I'm just a mess. It's my fault that Carrie went missing and now Adam and everyone hates me for it." A tear fell down my cheek.
"It's not you're fault. You just forgot to unlock the door, I do that everyday. And everyone doesn't hate you. I don't hate you."
"Yea right." I sighed.
"I don't! I could never hate you!"
"Prove it. Prove to me that you don't hate me." I folded my arms.
"I-I um..." He trailed off.
"Exactly!"
Jace looked over his shoulder and then back to me.
"I-I" He seemed frustrated. Like he new what he wanted to say but the words wouldn't form. "I love you."
"Yeah right! Prove it."
"I would have but I don't want to hurt you." His cheeks turned a crimson colour and he looked down.
I leaned my head closer to his ear and whispered, "I love you too."
