A picture of Carrie is to the sideJace's POV:
Did she really just say that or am I still asleep?
I am extremely happy that she feels the same way but there's something inside me screaming that it's a bad idea. Oh what am I saying, I don't care if it's a bad idea! I love her!
"So do you want to be my girlfriend?" I asked shily.
Before she could answer Adam ran into my room. I should really get a lock on my door.
"Guy's Annie said that we all have to go to the basement. There's supposed to be a tornado."
The last time there was a tornado around where I live was when I was one. It was a few months before Phoenix was born. I looked at her and could tell she was nervous.
Phoenix's POV:
"Guys Annie said that we all have to go to the basement. There's supposed to be a tornado."
I felt my heart begin to race. I have never been in a tornado before, I mean obviously I have never been in one before. I had always told Adam and Jace how if there was a tornado then I would probably freak. I guess Jace remembered judging by the concerned look he gave me.
"Don't worry Phoenix, we'll be safe in the basement." Adam assured me before taking my hand and walking me downstairs with Jace following.
When we entered the basement I saw Annie sitting on an old couch with Carrie in her lap. I also noticed a dusty table, a few chairs, a radio and three beanbag chairs. The walls were concrete and the only light was a lightbulb that could be turned on by pulling a medal chain that was attached to it.
Adam walked over to the fuzzy red beanbag chair and sat on it while I just stood at the bottom of the stairs.
Jace stood behind me, placed his hands on my shoulders and asked me what was wrong.
"I don't really know. I just feel like I forgot somethi-shit." I remembered.
"What?"
"Do you think I could quickly run upstairs and grab my jacket?"
"Why? What do you need you're jacket for?"
"I carry concealer in it just incase of something like this." I pointed to my bruised cheek.
"Ummm," he walked In front of me so I could see him. "I don't really think you should put anything on it, you know. Because of the cut."
I nodded my head and pushed my hair over my face slightly, trying to cover it as best as I could. If Carrie saw it, it would scare the shit out of her.
Jace and I walked over to the beanbag chairs. I sat on the fuzzy light blue beanbag chair leaving Jace the fuzzy black one.
"Soooo" Adam said.
"So what?"
"So what's you're answer?"
"Answer to what?" I had a seriously confused look on my face.
"Did Jace not ask you a question earlier?" I blushed.
"Yes."
"Yes what? Yes he asked you a question or yes you want to be his girlfriend?" Adam could be so annoying.
I looked over to Annie whose head had shot up at Adam's last words. I'm pretty sure she would prefer me not dating her son. I know she likes me and everything but she probably thinks I'll get him into drugs or smoking. Speaking of smoking...
