"Can-can I be a hero even if I don't have a quirk?"'Please say yes, please say yes, please say-'
"Sorry kid, but no, I'm afraid you can't be a hero. With out a quirk you'll just be in the way. But if you really want to help, I would suggest becoming a police officer" The hero I've admired for years tells me.
He gives me one last look of pity before transforming back into buff All Might and jumping away.
"Without a quirk you'll just be in the way..." I repeat quietly
After being told that for years it shouldn't affect me any different coming from one more person's mouth but...I really thought that All Might would tell me different.
He's the number one hero for crying out loud! The symbol of peace! So naturally, I thought he'd be different. But no, why would someone like him with an amazing quirk need to give false hope to a poor quirkless kid.
I sigh, he left me alone on a roof to.
Idiot
---------------
You know, maybe this is good for me. A sign that I should finally give up on wanting to be a hero. With my grades I could probably get some other good career.
Leave the villains, people saving, and fame to those with the good quirks. After All might ditched me on the roof top I had to climb down a bunch of stairs and then get interrogated by the lady at the front desk about how I got in the building. And now, I have to walk around the city sweating to death and getting weird glances from people.
I decide to spare myself anymore embracement and take a short cut home through an ally.
"I wonder if Aunt Inko will notice that I'm late" I mutter
Then, I feel something crawling on my hand. I look down and see a spider, an ugly one at that. I don't think I've ever seen a dark green spider before. I smack it off and notice that it bit me.
I shrug, and continue my way home. I'll just put a band-aid or something on it when I get home.
---------------
"Aunt Inko, I'm home!" I call out, walking in and shutting the door behind me."Ah, Izuku! Your late"
'She noticed'
"Yeah sorry about that, the train was packed" I lie
"Right, well noting we can do about that. Take off your shoes before you get dirt all over my house"I look down at my shoes and see that the usual bright red is covered in dirt and soil.
'Probably from the ally'
"Kay" I say taking them off.
"I'm going upstairs" I say heading to the stairs.
"Alright, dinner will be ready in a bit!"I head up the stairs and into my room, I set my backpack down and walk over to my shelf full of 'Hero Analysis for the Future' notebooks. I flip through a few of them and am tempted to throw all 12 of them away, but then resist remembering that would also be throwing away years of research and hard work.
I grab number 13 from my pocket. It's completely ruined. The cover is torn with scorch marks , the spine broken, pages ripped and wet, and the writing isn't even readable anymore.
"Stupid Kachan" I mutter, throwing the notebook aside. I had finally gotten some good information on Mt. Lady and now it's gone. Well, I still remember it along with everything else in there but still, that's at least two years of work down the drain.
'If you wanna quirk so bad, just pray that you'll be born with one in the next life. Then take a swan dive off the roof of the building.'
I cringe as I remember the words of Bakugou after destroying my pride and joy.
