Back in my hotel I was videochatting with your Aunt Christine. I was telling her about Giovanni and how he turned out to be another disappointment to my love life until someone knocked on my door. I had received a call from the reception and they told me I had a visitor. I figured that maybe my dad had come to Italy for a quick visit but when I opened the door I was speechless. It was Giovanni. I wanted to ask him what he was doing in Venice but he grabbed me by the waist and kissed me. The best kiss someone has ever given. To be honest, I was confused even if I enjoyed this sweet and romantic gesture.
I looked at the screen of my computer and Christine seemed to be screaming of excitement. I told her that I would call her later and hung up.
Giovanni: Before you say anything, I want to explain what happened at the park. When was 18 I met a girl and well, she was amazing. She was my girlfriend for a really long time and we got engaged but then she got sick and her blood test results revealed she had cancer. The doctors said she only had a year to live. I promised her I would never let go of her but she said she did want me to met someone else. Julianna, that was her name, she died five years ago. I think after her death I just bottled up all my feelings of grief because I didn't know what to do with them. I really believed that I would never met someone like her and I haven't . I met and fell in love with a girl that makes me feel different, like everything will be alright. Ever since I saw you, you showed me how to enjoy things in life, you taught me how to be happy again and I just can't stop thinking about you. I know I should've told you but-
Camilla: You thought I wouldn't understand.
Giovanni: Yeah because... no one really does.
Camilla: I'm sure Julianna was pretty awesome.
Giovanni: She would've liked you. But it's time to move on. Camilla, I'm sorry if I acted like a jerk. I do want to be with you, of course if you'll take me.
Camilla: I will.
We spent the night together. Giovanni and I were in love and we were a bit corny. We used to see each other almost everyday. Sometimes he would come to Venice and on the weekends I would take a train to Alessandria. He sent me flowers, gifts, and a love letters. I was fascinated by him and I couldn't get enough of Giovanni.
As I mentioned earlier, I was in Italy because of my work. You see, my father gave me that promotion to start the process with the new unit in Italy but I wasn't the head of the company in Venice like my father. He hired Johannes, a friend of him to take charge of all the units. Like the CEO in Italy and he was the one who needed to approve my application for me to work there. Even if I got the client, Johannes still had to interview me and approve the promotion. I had completely forgot about that because of all the time I spent with Giovanni. I was distracted by love, so a week before the meeting with the client and with Jo, I prepared myself. Fortunately, I got the client to sign a 10 year contract with the new unit but I wasn't ready for the interview. I had to convince Johannes to give me that job so I could stay in Italy, work from there and live with Giovanni.
The next day I went to the company and presented myself. I was a little nervous but in a way I felt pretty confident. I mean, I already got the most important client to work for us, so I just needed to talk with Uncle Jo.
He was glad to see me but it was important to stay professional.
Johannes: So, I got the news. You got the client.
Camilla: Yes. Here's the paperwork.
Johannes: Ms. Ontiveros, before you go, can I ask you one last question?
