When I turned back she was already gone. I thought I was doing the right thing because all that anger I felt for years had disappeared, I had some closure. I was ready to marry my girlfriend. As soon as she arrived I asked her about the wedding and she told me that she wasn't happy and she knew I wasn't too. We argued for a while until we agreed that it was best for us to go our separate ways instead of making the greatest mistake ever made.
The next day I decided to go to my old house and check it out. There was a little package outside the door, so I went to see what it was. It was adressed to me, so I opened it up. It seemed to be an engaement ring with a message engraved on it "Forever, my love. -Camilla-". I remembered I had ordered it in a jewelry store because I was planning to marry Camilla when she got back, that's why it took me so long to come up with the money. I had spent it on the ring. I still loved her and I couldn't lose her again. It was going to be hard to settle down after what happened but I belonged with her and nothing could ever change that.
I called Camilla and told her to meet me outside the train station. I waited for her and when she arrived my heart literally stopped like the first time I saw her. We were meant to be together and I knew it.
Camilla: Is everything okay, Giovanni? You sounded pretty anxious on the phone.
Giovanni: Everything is more than perfect. Camilla, I waited for you four years, even though I was so angry at you I couldn't stop missing you but most importantly, I couldn't stop loving you. When I first met you I thought you were the most beautiful girl in the whole world and I still think that. I always questioned how you made me feel and I'm just sorry I ever let you go. You are my true happiness and I would love nothing more than to be the rest of my life with you.
Camilla: What are you saying?
Giovanni: I'm saying that I'm devoted to you and I don't want to lose you again. I can't spend another minute without you.
I got on one knee and showed her the ring.
Giovanni: Camilla Ontiveros, will you marry me?
Camilla: But Giovanni, what if one day you wake up and regret it?
Giovanni: My greatest regret is not fighting for you when your dad separated us. Camilla, you're the best thing that ever happened to me. All that time we spent apart just made my love for you stronger because I realized there's no one like you. I love you forever.
