AFTER Rick told us that the Governor wanted us all dead, we had all went to our respective areas and slept on it. I was in the guard tower with Daryl, nothing happened, we just talked and slept afterwards. We didn't exactly know what tomorrow would entail, we were all scared but we didn't want to show the others. We may be family, but there are things that we still want to keep to ourselves.

I was laying on Daryl as he held me close and kept his arm gripped around my waist. He was asleep and I was looking at him. He looked peaceful and even more beautiful, just lying there without a care in the world. I traced my finger along his jaw and his cheek. I then pushed of his hair out of the way to get a better view.

"What you staring at?" He asked as his eyes fluttered open catching me staring. I smiled as I felt my cheeks begin to grow hot. My tawny brown eyes met his beautiful blue ones.

"You."

"Why?"

"Because you're beautiful to me. I can't just admire you?" I asked jokingly.

"It's weird."

"No it isn't." I argued smiling like an idiot at his cheeks turning red, when I called him beautiful.

"Are you blushing because I called you beautiful?" I asked while chuckling and poking his cheek lightly.

"I ain't blusin'."

"Whatever fibber. You can't lie to me."

"I can't, but you can't either."

"You're right. I can't." I confessed softly while looking up at him. He tucked my hair behind my ear before he caressed my cheek. I leaned into his warm hand contently while closing my eyes. Those three words lingered in my mind, at the tip of my tongue, yet I was nervous to even spit it out. Every time I had doubts about confessing my feelings to Daryl, I would think of T-Dog and how for those eight months out on the road, he would hound me about how we looked like a bad rom com.

I was eating the food we had managed to score all thanks to Daryl. I was so starving I thought I'd chew my fingers off. We were all sitting in a circle in an abandoned house, keeping a fire close to us since it had been freezing. I was sitting next to T as he was going on and on about one of his favorite childhood memories. We had been going back and forth with silly stories. When he had been telling this one though, I had spaced out. My attention had been elsewhere, taken up by something else, someone else.
