8. Travel

Monaco, January 19, 2021.

- Victoria

I arrive home and quickly make my way to the bathroom, take my makeup off, clean off the makeup residue from last night, turn on the bathtub and let fill while I pour lather into it, although I am not a big fan of bathtub baths I prefer the shower, I feel that after last night I really need it, I sit on the edge of the bathroom and take off my heels and throw them in a corner, I take off my dress and underwear and put them in the laundry basket, I look at myself in the mirror and my eyes are slightly purple due to the few hours of sleep I had tonight.

After the tub is full I get into it, I grab my cell phone and look up Charles' number and quickly call him, I think he deserves an explanation after everything that happened last night.

"Vic?" - I hear his sleepy voice on the other end of the line and automatically I smile as I remember last night, at least while Max didn't ruin everything.

"Charles, I'm sorry if I woke you up." - I say and feel remorseful, after all, that Charles did last night, he deserves a nice night's sleep.

"No problem Vic, it's okay, I have to get out of bed anyway, I have a meeting with Ferrari later." - he says

"I just wanted to thank you for all the cool stuff that you did yesterday, and for me ruining our date." - I say

"You don't have to apologize, I did it for you and Victoria." - he speaks - "I wasn't going to leave you alone those hours of the night, I'm just sorry it was interrupted at the best time of the date." - I notice Charles' naughty laugh on the other end of the line, quickly my thoughts fly to Max, what could Charles have done that was so bad that makes him hate him so much, really Charles is one of the sweetest people I have ever met - "But I'm sure we will have more opportunities."

"Of course, you will, I would love to go out with you again." - I say and straighten up in the tub.

"Victoria, is that the sound of water? Where are you?" - Charles speaks suspiciously.

"At home, taking a bath." - I say shyly, I could make a thousand and one excuses, but I don't know because the truth at this moment seemed more interesting.

"You're calling me, naked, in your bathtub?" - he speaks and laughs - "Victoria Jones, you are going to be my failure, the things I could do to you."

"Charles Leclerc, are you showing me your naughtier side?" - I speak, despite my fatigue, this conversation has already woken me up.

"Victoria Jones, what do you expect when you tell me you are naked in the bathtub?" - I can tell he is trying to tease me, but quickly Christian Horner's name appears on the cell phone screen - " Charles, give me 5 minutes, Christian is calling me and I really need to answer"

"Christian" - I speak as I answer my cell phone

"Victoria I'm glad you're up already, I was just talking to Ray, and tomorrow Max is flying to Hassel to do a publicity campaign for merchandise for next season, and since you're his PR person it makes perfect sense to accompany him."

"Sure, what time is the plane?" - I speak and try to keep as still as possible so that Christian doesn't realize I'm inside my bathtub.

"The jet leaves at 11 am, the flight lasts about two hours, it's a short flight, you guys stay there for about three days and then return" - Christian speaks and I try to memorize all the details, she said ideally to be at Max's apartment early to make sure he and Victoria are ready and after that, we head to the airport - " I will be traveling to Milton Keynes I have meetings with the Red Bull coaching staff, next week I'll wait for you there" - the idea of having to leave Monaco breaks my heart, I know I've lived in many places my whole life, but the last month I've been spending here has really made my heart fall in love with Monte Carlo and especially Monaco
