Alone

Kate's pov

when we get home from the park, i set morgan down on my bed and tucked her in so she can sleep. i went back out to the couch, and yelena is sprawled  out on the couch.

'what are you doing?' i laugh, pushing her feet onto the ground and sitting next to her

'well who knows how long the mission is going to take, so as far as i'm concerned, our only thing  we have to worry about is morgan' she sighs

'what are you saying?' i ask 

'do you want to have a macaroni date with me?' yelena asks

'are you serious?' i ask excitedly 'of course'

she blushes slightly as i embrace her in a tight hug

'i would hug you back right now, but i can't breath' she gasps as i loosen my grip on her

'ooh sorry' i laugh as she wraps her arms around my waist

'you go get in your pajamas and then we'll make macaroni together' she smiles as she kisses my hand and walks off

i quickly walk to my room and noice that there is a pair of pajamas on my bed with a note. it says 'for our date ;)' i quickly put them on and a black tank top then walk back to the kitchen. when i get there yelena is getting the pot and the mac n cheese out. she grabs two boxes and glances at me as she smiles, motioning me to come over to her. i start to heat up the water and watch it as yelena and i try to guess what their mission would be about. when the water finally boils yelena and i each pour a box of the macaroni into the pot as i start to stir the macaroni so it wouldn't stick to the pot. yelena comes over and snakes her arms around my waist, resting her head in the crook of my neck.

'your so cold' she says, lightly kissing my cheek

'yeah, but it's ok' i smile

she then lets go of me and takes off her sweatshirt, giving it to me as she stirs the macaroni. when i put it on, she lets me taste the macaroni to check if it's done

a/n: idk how everyone else makes boxed mac n cheese, but this is how i do it so yea sry if that's not how u make it. also this is kraft mac n cheese. i've made it enough times to know exactly how to make it by memory!🤪🙃

yelena pours the macaroni into a strainer in the sink, then pours the cooked macaroni back into the pot. i put in the milk a the butter and we take turns stirring it before putting in the cheese powder. we stir it around, both of us with one hand on the spatula before i feed her a mouthful to make sure it tastes good

'mmm that's so good' she moans, then gets down two forks and hands one to me

'don't we need bowls?' i ask

'less dishes' she shrugs, then brings the pot to the coffee table and plops down on the couch

i sit down next to her as she wraps her arm around me, then puts the pomace n cheese onto our laps before turning on the tv. we both decide on one of the greatest christmas movies ever. christmas vacation.

when the mac n cheese is finished, i can feel yelena shifting in her seat. i scoot closer to her and lay my head in the crook of her neck while she wraps her arms around me. we both fall asleep in each other's arms as the movie continues playing.

Yelena's pov

in the morning i wake up first as i look down slightly at kate. she's so beautiful when she sleeps. i can feel her stir awake as i pretend to be asleep. i can feel her shift her head and look up at me before she strokes her thumb on my cheek

'why are you so goddamn beautiful' she whispers 'i wish i could tell you that i think about you all the time'

she kisses my cheek, then puts her head back in the crook of my neck. i wait a minute before pretending to wake up. i yawn quietly and see that kate it pretending to be asleep

'kate' i whisper in her ear, stroking her cheek with my thumb 'wake up my little arrow girl'

she yawns, and looks up at me, smiling 

'good morning lena' she smiles

'hey beautiful' i smile, kissing her forehead

'are they not back yet?' she asks, rubbing her eyes

'no not yet'

just then we both hear little footsteps running down the hallway

'hi' morgan smiles before running to me and kate and sitting between us

kate and i both look at each other over morgan's head and laugh

'good morning little one' i smile, playing with her hair softly

'hi' she giggles, embracing me in a warm hug, then turning to kate and doing the same thing

'your being so sweet this morning' i laugh

'wait a second' kate says, trailing off in her thoughts 'did you do something bad? what do you want from us?'

'uhhh' she says, looking up at kate innocently 'can you make pancakes?'

kate and i look at each other and chuckle lightly

'of course we can' i say and morgan squeals with delight as she runs and sits on the barstool

kate and i stand up walking to the kitchen as we both start making pancakes together

'we are really good at cooking together' kate laughs

'i love cooking' i smile 'i've always thought about posting videos of me cooking, but i never had the chance to'

'we should to it right now'

'no no no' i laugh 'if i wanna do that i have to get dressed and all that'

'alright' kate sighs 'can you bring me the butter from the fridge, morgan?'

the little girl hops off her stool and rushes to the fridge, just barely tall enough to grab the butter off the middle shelf

'how many sticks?' she asks

'just one' kate responds, the morgan brings over the butter

kate gives her a quick thanks as morgan walks over to me asking if i need help

'of course you can help' i smile 'you can stir this for me'

 morgan struggles to see the bowl as i walk and go get her a stool. she stands on top of if and easily stirs the batter as i walk over to kate to 'help' her

i dip my finger lightly into the batter and smear it onto kate's lips, my finger lightly grazing them.

'hey' she says, trying to sound mad 'that wasn't nice'

'do you want me to get it off?' i ask, as a smirk appears on my lips

'now's your chance to make a move' i think to myself

'sure' she says, blushing ferociously

i then lean in and kiss her, licking the batter off. when we separate, she looks at me and laughs

'your gonna get sick' she smiles, wiping a little batter off the corner of my mouth

'it would be worth it' i smile, kissing her again
