Dream stares down the dark empty corridor. He took his post outside the prince's room not more than 20 minutes ago, and yet he already feels drowsy. It had been so quiet in the halls that you could hear a pin drop. Dream allowed his mind to wonder, to keep him entertained while he stood in the empty hallway. He began thinking more about the prince. About how he could be so willing to marry someone he has never met just for the diplomatic matters for his kingdom. Even Dream, being the loyal knight he is, does not think that he would be able to do that. Although he doesn't have anyone special to him at the moment, he feels as if he would never truly be able to be happy if he had to be without someone he loved. And sure he probably could find someone if he had tried, after all Sapnap was able to maintain a relationship with his partners from town even with his knight duties, but Dream doesn't know much about love he wouldn't even know where to start.

"Psst"

Dream turns to find the door slightly ajar with the prince's head poking out from behind it.

"You wouldn't happen to know where they keep the extra pillows?" the prince whispers, seemingly embarrassed to ask.

"Of course, one second." Dream begins down the corridor to fetch the prince a pillow.

His footsteps echo as he walks to the closet down the corridor. He puts his hand on the dusty door knob and pulls open the wooden door. Everything in the closet looks like it hasn't been touched in years. Dream grabs a pillow off the top shelf and shoes of the dust.

"A little dust never killed anyone" He muttered to himself.

He reseals the door and leaves it to go untouched for another 10 years.

When he makes his way back to the prince's room he passes a window, Dream had always liked the stars. They remind him that no matter where he is, no matter how lost he feels, there will always be somethings that never change. Dream fights the urge to stop and stare for a while, as he has a task to complete.

When he gets to the royal guest room he gives a light knock on the solid door.

"Come in" he heard the prince call from the other side.

Dream opens the door to reveal an all blue room. From the wallpaper to the bedding and chairs, all of it was blue. The prince sat on the edge of the bed sipping a glass of water.

"Thank you." he says as he takes the pillow from dream.

"There's no need to thank me." Dream replies.

"Is there not?"

"Well it's my job."

"Just because it's your job means that I shouldn't show my gratitude?"

"Well you are a prince. You shouldn't have to- "

"Because you're below me? Is that what it is? The power structure makes you think that you don't need to be thanked for your service?"

Dream had never thought about that before. He had gotten so used to just being ordered around by the royal family that he had gotten used to it.

"Is there anything else I can do for you?" Dream asks.

"I mean you could stay and chat. If you wanted to, that is."the prince suggests. "I reckon it would be less boring than sitting in the hallway for hours."

"I guess there has been one thing I was wondering about." Dream begins. "Does it really look like this in your kingdom?" referring to the all blue makeup of the room.
