Though the excitement on the streets has died off for now the efforts in the castle never stops. Part of Dream's formal duties include accompanying George most hours of the day, except for Dream's patrol and rest hours. The preparations for the royal wedding required most of George's time. Dream didn't mind all the time he was spending with George; however he could tell George was getting a little sick of choosing which shades of blue would make better party decorations. Servants were constantly asking for the prince's opinion on wedding decor or trying to get his measurements for suits. They couldn't walk two steps without being stopped by someone. Dream could see through George's calm and collected demeanor that he was beginning to get overwhelmed.

Another maid attempts to stop them.

"Prince George, our most valued guest-" She starts to address George as the rest of the servants have been.

"Actually the prince has a very important task to attend to right now." Dream interrupts.

George shoots a confused look over to Dream. Dream just gives him a slight nudge with his arm telling Greorge 'play along'.

"Ah yes. I in fact have a VERY important task that cannot be pushed aside." George says awkwardly.

Somehow the maid buys it, and Dream leads George out into the Garden. It was a small open plot surrounded by other walls of the castle. Vines crawled up marble pillars. Patches with any type of flower you could think of, and probably some you wouldn't. The gardeners had already done their rounds for the day so it was the one place that wasn't overrun with people trying to bother George. They both slump down on a wooden oak bench near a patch of green dahlias in full bloom.

"Are you alright?" Dream asks George.

"Yeah, it's just a lot to take in." George sighs. "I mean I'm expected to marry without ever having loved."

"That bothers you?"

"Well of course it bothers me!"

"I just always assumed you were willing to do whatever is best for your kingdom."

"I am, but that doesnt mean I don't have second thoughts."

Dream falls silent. He feels like an idiot for not thinking that George could have his own feelings on the matter.

"I shouldn't be saying this." George stands up front the bench. "I'm happy to bring a new time of peace between the kingdoms."

"Even if you don't agree with how it's done?" Dream says quietly.

George doesn't answer.

"We should probably head back inside now." George says.

"Wait." Dream stands up and picks a dahlia from the nearby patch. "Take this."

George, confused, takes the flower from Dream's hand.

"It's my favorite color." Dream points out.

"Your favorite color is yellow?"

"Um, it's green."

"Sorry, im colorblind."

"What? Then how were you picking shades for decorations earlier?"

"Well luckily enough I'm not colorblind to blue."

"Oh."

George giggles at Dream's confusion.

"Still a lovely gesture." George twirles the flower in his hand. He gives dream a soft smile before sticking the flower behind his ear.

Dream knew that if Sapnap saw him now he would never let Dream live this down. Dream returns the smile and for a moment there is nothing but comfortable silence.

"Thank you, but I do think it is time we go back inside now." George says, finally breaking the complacent moment.

"Yeah, they're probably losing their minds on whether to use royal blue or aqua blue napkins at dinner." Dream added.

George and Dream giggled about the thought of the servants running around in chaos due to the fact they didn't know which shade of napkin to put out, and headed back to the main hall.

Dream and Sapnap decide to use their afternoon break for a little sparring match. Mainly dream wanted to be able to protect Sapnap if anything happens in real life like his dreams, also so that Sapnap would have a better shot at protecting himself if that ever did happen.

Most of the time it was Dream brushing up on his technique, while Sapnap tries to find his weak spots. Sometimes this even ment a little trash talk.

Sapnap would swing left and Dream would parry, trying to make sure to keep his feet in the correct position. Dream would take a jab and sapnap would barely duck under it before sweeping dream of of his unevenly spaced feet, sending him plummeting to the ground. Dream had rolled over just in time for Sapnap's blade to collide with the muddy earth next to him. Dream managed to kick Sapnap off balance as he rolled back onto his feet. Sapnap quickly got up from the ground, mud splattered across his cheek, he rushed at Dream. Leaving only a little time for Dream to bring up his sword and block Sapnap's blow. As Sapnap wound up for another swing Dream sidestepped and got behind him where he hit him with the hilt of his sword, knocking Sapnap to the ground. Before Sapnap had a chance to think of how to defend himself Dream had him pinned.

"Fine, you win." Sapnap spits in defeat.

"Foot positioning. I tell you every time." Dream says, wiping the sweat of his forehead. "It's why you're knocked off balance so easily."

"And everytime i ignore you."Sapnap says as Dream helps him off the muddy ground. "Whatever you up for a rematch?"

Dream rolled his eyes and got back into a fighting stance.

Like always Sapnap makes the first move. Dream stays focused on the fight, on how he's standing, how Sapnap is standing, how if the ground beneath him is completely level. While still blocking Sapnap's blows he calculates the perfect time to strike. He moves himself into position and Sapnap follows. Just as planned.

"Is that George behind you?" Sapnap stops and says.

In the split second Dream turns around to check Sapnap catches him off guard and knocks him to the muddy ground.

"HEY! That's just unfair." Dream says, pushing Sapnap off of him.

"All is fair in war." Sapnap laughs. "Y'know how many times you've used that trick on me?"

"Well that's because you were too focused on whether Karl was gonna sell a petunia or not. When you should have been focusing on not losing your head."

"Well what does that say about you then?"

"Well, whatever. Overseeing the prince's stay is my job. I need to give it all of my attention."

"Sure. Dream when are you gonna wake up and see that there is more to life than being the captain of the royal guard?"

Dream stayed quiet. Why would he ever want anything else? As the sun began to hide behind the hills once again, Dream glanced at his kingdom that he calls home. That he would do anything to protect.

"I'm just saying." Sapnap says. "There may come a day where you must choose between what you desire and the duties of your knighthood."

Dream rolls his eyes. "Since when did you get poetic?"

Sapnap nudges his shoulder harshly with a smile.

"Anyways." Dream says. "Best out of 3?"
