He didn't do it on purpose most of the time.
He just forgot to eat sometimes. He never really feels hungry anymore, but rather nauseous anytime he thought about eating. So, he put it off. Besides, the more important things to do considering they were still touring for the Youngblood era.
Luke was already fairly skinny to begin with, but Luke knew he was rapidly dropping weight. He liked it.
