chapter 12

The Change

"The research has found that 25% of south korean population has either died or went missin- Please wear your seatbelts!" an annoying high pitched voice disturbed me.

It was the air hostess who was walking around checking if all the passengers obeyed her or not "mam" My head instantly turn right with widen eyes only to find an air hostess looking at me with a pissed expression.

"yeah?" I questioned not understanding her problem.

Her eyes made their way down to my face to the opened seatbelt "oh! sorry" I act to get surprised before locking the seatbelt. She gave me a smile which was the fakest smile I have ever seen.

She walked away checking others. Soon I could feel the plane slowly coming down and later made a safe landing.

After unlocking the seatbelt I stretched before grabbing my laptop bag and adjusting my mask to make my identity unknown.

I walked out to the exit to see that same air hostess with the familiar fake smile bowing down to each and every passenger whispering a thank you however when her eyes met mine she rolled her eyes and bowed a little not bothered to say thank you.

I sighed and stepped down.

After a short walk I was inside the airport and to my surprise very few amount of people were present usually this airport would be full of people that's when I realized it was 11:40pm and someone who has a death wish will only leave their home.

My hands snaked inside my jeans and took out my phone, unlocking it I went to contacts and called taehyung.

After a few seconds the call was accepted and a hello sounded from the other line "so the plane landed and I am currently inside the airport" "aeri, I told you to come to the parking lot" he said in annoyance  "ok I am coming"

I walked towards the parking lot trying hard to not get noticed but looks like luck wasn't by my side.

"omg is this park aeri!?" I jumped with widen eyes and looked behind to see a little 8 year old girl with her parents who were looking at me with widen eyes.

Time for me to run 1....2 and 3!

Turning around instantly I started to walk faster and faster "omg PARK AERI!" the girl screamed and started to run behind me, the people present in that place looked at me with widen eyes and soon many people with their phones in their hands started to run behind me.

"park aeri what are you doing here!?" "don't tell me you will replace that new good looking detective!" "where tf were you!?" "who was that detective that took your place!?" "are you not a detective anymore!?" questions after questions can be heard, I hate this why can't they mind their own business.

I could hear sound of camera clicking with questions after questions.

Fastening my pace I ran to the parking lot and stopped with my eyes scanning each and every car praying hard to find taehyung's car as soon as possible but like I said luck wasn't by my side.

The people instantly came to me trapping me between them "please move!" I yelled trying to look from the gaps to find taehyung and his car.

Finally my eyes caught taehyung who was also wearing a mask waving at me "please shift I need to go!" I screamed but no so I bend down on my knees and slowly crawled out. 

Standing up I instantly ran towards taehyung "fast fast!" throwing my suitcase at the trunk I sat down on the passenger seat trying hard to wear seatbelt as fast as I could.

"TAEHYUNG FAST!" I screamed when I saw the crowed running towards us "omg taehyung!!!!!!" a women screamed and in the right timing he started the engine and drove away.

With a sigh in relief I throw my back on the seat catching my breathe with my eyes closed "that was a close call" I hummed in response "how was the your three days?" taehyung questioned taking a sharp right turn.

Opening my eyes I looked at taehyung just then I realized the change of his hair colour "wait did you dyed your hair?" he looked at me and smiled widely "yep! I was waiting for you to point on it" not gonna lie but he looked deadly handsome with his new hair colour. 

"how do I look?" he questioned "umm fine I guess" I responded shifting my gaze to the dark clear sky without any moon.

"only fine?" he asked with disappointment filled in his voice "what else you want me to say?" "handsome of course" "keep dreaming" he scoffed.

I looked down at the street and wasn't surprised to see the dark and empty street.

All shops were closed, no human was out of their home and no car was moving on the road which kinda scared me "tae" "yes?" "how was working with ara?" he silent down for a moment thinking about my questions "it was fine but she is dumb" he said and turn to look at me making my small smile to vanish.

"taehyung what is wrong with your eyes?" "what?" he questioned and rose one brow, his eyes were no more brown they were wired blue like a mixture of dark blue and cyan.

"oh don't be afraid I am wearing contacts" 

I quite down in fear and broke the eye contact to focus on his slender fingers which changed the gear. 

The taehyung which I knew and worked with doesn't love to wear contacts and second this new eye colour reminded me of the boy from my nightmare who also had the same eyes followed by jeon jungkook. 

This maze is slowly making me go insane.

Rest of the ride was silent no one spoke any word as his  eyes were focused on the road mine were on his hand which rested on the gear. 

Soon we reached my house "there you go!" taehyung smiled, I just hummed quickly unlocking the seatbelt and went out to take my suitcase.

"thanks will meet tomorrow" I smiled and took my house keys I heard the car door opening and closing and soon he drove away to his home.

A sigh escaped my lips as I unlocked my door and stepped just to stumble on something causing me to nearly fall.

"what the fuck?" I questioned staring at the dark living room.

Fishing my hand into my pocket I took out my phone and turn on the flashlight, biting on my lower lip I looked for the switchboard.

Now the room had a good amount of light I smiled before walking towards the thing that nearly made me fall.

My eyes searched on the floor and found a bouquet of red roses on the ground with a small paper folded and placed in between the roses however some of the rose petals were on the ground and some rose even cam out. 

I scoffed and bend down to pick up the bouquet and took the paper just then something hit me 'wait I remembered locking each and every windows and doors before leaving' 

My eyes widen as I looked at the bouquet in horror "HOW DO THIS ENDED INTO THE LIVIING ROOM!?"
